I am the original owner of this 1965 GTO. It has the original WS engine and I have the original protecto-plate to verify this . My son owned it from 92 to 05. Since 05 the car has had a complete off frame restoration. The motor was  rebuilt to exact specs. by Scott Tieman. Scott makes a cd when he does a project and the engine photo's were taken at his shop . Notice the arma steel crank, code 77 heads and the ws numbers. I was also fortunate enough to see Scotts car being restored during the  time he was  working on my engine .He even gave me a copy of the whole job on cd which proved to be more valuable than a good manual.  Original trans and axle rebuilt by Riverside Gear in Eaton Rapids Mi. The trans was changed to  close ratio with a 1" countershaft  and the stock 3.55 posi. Scott had a factory set of tri power exhaust that he loaned to a company in St. Heights, Mi. (Inline Tube) and my car has the first set they manufactured they're correct right down to the resonators. Interior is completely redone; the seat covers are legendary, with new cushions, headliners and carpet. The parts that had to be replaced are from Ames Performance. The chrome plating is as good as I've seen. The car came from the factory exactly as it is shown with the expection of the rear sway bar and the addition of power steering. The ralley  1's are original, they are numbered 1 thru 4. Unfortunately I have lost the 5th wheel. The paint is Glacier Gray. It has the original tinted glass, original console with the rally dash, a.m. radio with reverb. Needless to say all weather strip parts, rubbers, suspention parts, everything replacable has been replaced  or reconditioned .  The car shows 20 miles on it. I haven't driven it anywhere but around my back field and don't plan to. I don't plan on getting it dirty, someone else can do that. The first picture was from 1970 the pic. with no clip and blue rocker covers was in 05 when I got the car back from my son . I have many more pics .   If your interested my name is jim wood, my ph. is 810 728 5632, my email is  jimwood95 @yahoo.com.  Thank you for your interest.                I did not add a pic of the interior .I will add one at a later date I was trying to find one with the radio in the dash . the radio is out now getting repaired

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
