This is a black 2009 Pontiac G8 GT 6.0L, four door sedan, BEAST. I purchased this car four years ago brand new from the dealership. One owner, and extensively taken good care of. Mileage is 71600, 75% or more being highway miles (daily commute to work). There are some additions to the car (1500 dollar worth):

- side reflector light tint
- rear tail light custom tint
- All around window tint (20 percent back, 35 percent front)
- All cabin dome lights changed to red LED lights (see picture above)
- rear license plate lights red LED lights
- HID Xenon pure white lights in the front.
- Custom ORACLE HALO lights around head lights, high beam lights and fog lights (fog lights are installed, however, power is reverted to fog HALO's. Fog's are temporarily disabled unless power is re-routed to them from fog HALO's).
- Mesh Chrome grill kit
- Custom interior leather black seats with red inserts (rear seats as well), absolutely no rips or any damage to the leather.
- Flowmaster exhaust system, giving it a nice resonating sound from the 6.0L V8 (exhaust tips have been pushed out half an inch)

The engine itself has NOT been tampered with. Absolutely no engine/transmission or any other drive train problem. Everything else is stock on the car. Comes with wheel locks. Fully loaded with information center screen, headed front seats, dual climate control, cruise control.

All oil changes on time (about four oil changes annually) MOBILE ONE SYNTHETIC OIL used. No mechanical error messages read on gauge cluster, everything is fully functional. Interior is superbly clean. Exterior paint still intact  (few minor knicks here and there. one scratch on rear right door and left back rear bumper. Nothing major or visibly distracting from a distance of few feet.). GM dealer maintenance and full records are available and local buyers are welcome to see them in person.

New tires have been changed 4,000 miles ago; Eagle RS-A tires good for year-round weather, front rotors have been replaced, breaks changed regularly, over-all the car is in GREAT cosmetic and mechanical shape.

If you have any questions please feel free to contactl me via ebay. Thanks and happy bidding!

Let me add that there are absolutely no leaks of any sort. The car comes from a smoke free environment. I did not detail the car. I never washed the engine compartment. All carpeting are in great shape. No stains. No scratches to the dashboard, etc.

**I listed my car locally. I reserve the right to end this listing anytime.**

What car brand should come back?

Fri, Apr 7 2017

Congratulations, wishful thinker! You've been granted one wish by the automotive genie or wizard or leprechaun or whoever has been gifted with that magical ability. You get to pick one expired, retired or fired automotive brand and resurrect it from its heavenly peace! But which one? That's a tough decision and not one to be made lightly. As we know from car history, the landscape is littered with failed brands that just didn't have what it took to cut it in the dog-eat-dog world of vehicle design, engineering and marketing. So many to choose from! Because I am not a car historian, I'll leave it to a real expert to present a complete list of history's automotive misses from which you can choose, if you're a stickler about that sort of thing. And since I'm most familiar with post-World War II cars and brands, that's what I'm going to stick to (although Maxwell, Cord and some others could make strong arguments). So, with the parameters established, let's get started, shall we? Hudson: I admit, I really don't know a lot about Hudson, except that stock car drivers apparently did pretty well with them back in the day, and Paul Newman played one in the first Cars movie. But really, isn't that enough to warrant consideration? Frankly, I think the Paul Newman connection is reason enough. What other actor who drove race cars was cooler? James Dean? Steve McQueen? James Garner? Paul Walker? But, I digress. That's a story for another day. Plymouth: As the scion of a Dodge family (my grandfather had a Dodge truck, and my mom had not one, but two Dodge Darts – the rear-wheel-drive ones with slant sixes in them, not the other one they don't make any more), I tend to think of Plymouth as the "poor man's Dodge." But then you have to consider the many Hemi-powered muscle cars sold under the Plymouth brand, such as the Road Runner, the GTX, the Barracuda, and so on. Was there a more affordable muscle car than Plymouth? When you place it in the context of "affordable muscle," Plymouth makes a pretty strong argument for reanimation. Oldsmobile: When I was a teenager, all the cool kids had Oldsmobile Cutlasses, the downsized ones that came out in 1978. At one point, the Olds Cutlass was the hottest selling car in the land, if you can believe that. Then everybody started buying Honda Civics and Accords and Toyota Corollas and Camrys, and you know the rest. But going back farther, there's the 442 – perhaps Olds' finest hour when it came to muscle cars.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
