Hi up for auction is my 2010 Pontiac G6. It features the 2.4l ecotec motor with 49528 miles on it, which usually gets between 25-29 miles per gallon and in the area which i live that is pretty hilly that is good! As of recently I recieved my notice from work that I will be getting layed off around may 10th, and I will no longer be able to afford the car payment and insurance on the car so I am trying to sell quick as possible. I do currently have a lien against the car, which shouldnt be a problem to whomever purchases the car because as soon as I recieve payment I will work very quickly to get the title free and clear. The KBB value of this car is $13500 so I feel the price im asking is very reasonable especially since i wont make a dime on the sale, just trying to get out from under the payments, so your win. I also may be able to ship the car personally if the car is purchased for the full $12500, if not I wont be able to afford to ship it myself for you and you will be responsible for shipping or pickup, but local pickup is prefered not only for ease of transaction but to make sure your happy with your purchase. The only mechanical things wrong with the car is in order for the aux port on the radio to work you have to wiggle the cord around, and the passenger seat wont recline back which my friend and I are going to look at trying to fix this week. As for the body there is a very small area on the passenger side rear bumper that is scuffed up. Other than that I feel the car is in great shape! The breaks are in good condition, also the tires have alot of tread left. It has been a great car for me and very reliable. I have always changed the oil on or around 3000 miles. Plus I am currently lacking an extra key for the car and remote pad, so if sold at $12500 I will also get an extra key made up along with remote pad. My name is Garrett Emerson and if you have any questions at all feel free to contact me at 1(315)406-9209 call/text at anytime. I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks for your time.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
