1969 PONTIAC FIREBIRD

Being offered is a very slick 1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Tribute. Here is your chance to own one of the most sought after body styles GM ever made and they are steadily going up in value each year.  This Firebird comes with PHS documentation, original window sticker copy, and other original manuals and receipts. This California produced car offers the following:

POWERTRAIN

This Firebird is powered by its original, rebuilt 400 motor. It was recently tuned up with new plugs, MSD wires, and new Mallory distributor. Its fueled by a new stock style 4 barrel carb, and factory intake. All belts and hoses are new along with a new battery, new alternator, and newer water pump. It has stock manifolds and brand new dual 2 1/2 exhaust with Flowmaster style mufflers that sounds awesome. The trans is the stock, newly rebuilt 400 Turbo that shifts perfect. The rear is stock posi with 3:73 gear, with new fluid and new bearings. It does have power steering with short radius steering box, and power disc brakes. The car runs strong, drives and rides very nice.

EXTERIOR

This Bird has a very slick paint job, on a solid, rust free, dentless body. The car was painted a few years ago, it has been garage kept and still shows mirror like reflections as can be seen in the pictures. Doors open and close easily. The car has a Ram Air style fiberglass hood, and rear deck lid spoiler.  All door, hood, and trunk  jams are finished out nice. I would rate the paint, a 9 - 9.5 overall.  It does have a few imperfections that can only be seen under flourescent garage light, but would go unnoticed  at a car show on a sunny day. It does have a few very small spots in drip rail of passenger side, again hardly noticeable but worth mentioning. See last pic. The undercarriage is super solid. The floor pans, frame, trunk pan, and rockers are very solid. All glass and trim around glass is nice. Chrome bumpers and emblems are in great condition. The car also has a set of factory PMD wheels, with new BFG Radial Ta tires.

INTERIOR

This Firebird has a very clean interior. The Deluxe front and rear seats are free from any rips and tears and are in great condition. The door panels are in great condition also. The dash, dash pad, console, and steering wheel is in very nice condition as well. The car has a newer GM tilt steering column. The car also has nice factory Gm seat belts. All exterior lights, dash lights, turn signals, interior lights, Heater controls, radio and gauges work properly.  This car also has a nice Alpine Cd player hidden in glove box and nice speaker system, with factory AM radio still in place.

Here is an opportunity to own a turn key rare Muscle Car, just in time for late summer, that will turn heads at every corner. Winning bidder MUST PAY FULL AMOUNT within 7 days of auction end. A $500 deposit is REQUIRED within 24 hours.  If either one of these terms causes a problem, please contact me before bidding, or please don't bid at all. Accepted methods of payment are cash in person, bank transfer, and certified cashiers bank check. Car will not be released until all funds are available. Please feel free to call or Text Don at (513) 884 3156, before 10pm EST, if you have any questions about the car. This car may be advertised locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time upon sale. Please dont place a bid unless you are serious about owning the car. All winning non paying bidders will be reported to Ebay. Third party inspections are welcome and recommended before auction ends. If you are local, feel free to come inspect the car in person. Worldwide buyers welcome. I am willing to help with making sure the car gets to its destination safely with your transporter if needed. I have very positive feedback so bid with lots of confidence! Thanks for your interest. Good Luck!

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

2020 Porsche 911 Speedster spied with an angry driver

Wed, Feb 13 2019

Porsche gave us details and showed us a concept of the 911 Speedster at the Paris Motor Show. Today, we bring you spy shots of what appears to be the production version of that concept with a few changes on board. They're rather minimal modifications, but the Speedster's driver appears especially angry with our spy photographer as he extends his middle finger directly toward the camera. Sorry, not sorry, Mr. Test Driver. Public testing of pre-production cars always comes with photo risks, and Porsches tend to attract more attention than others. You'll notice what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe prototype we've previously spotted running around with the 911. The Speedster Concept we saw in Paris had epic retro mirrors and fuel cap on the front hood, but both those design touches are absent from this pre-production car. It's tougher to see, but we lost the vents in between the two humps, as well. Everything else appears to have made it to production-spec. We can't say we're surprised these concept car features probably won't show up on the production car, but it is a tad deflating. You'll notice the Speedster is based-off the 991.2 generation of 911 and not the new 992. Porsche did a similar thing when the 997 generation was coming to an end with a Speedster model paying tribute to that car's life. The chassis is said to utilize parts from the 911 GT3, and the wonderful naturally aspirated flat-six engine gets carried over from that car, too. Porsche didn't specify if power will be exactly the same as the GT3, but we'll be expecting about 500 horsepower and a 9,000 rpm redline. We were told the six-speed manual would be offered on the Speedster in Paris, too. Let's just say that we strongly approve of that combination. Production will be limited to only 1,948 cars and begin in the first half of this year. We'll expect a reveal with a full spec breakdown soon, possibly for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Drive plays Smokey, Bandit with turbo Trans Am

Sun, Jun 28 2015

The modern trend for powertrains can be summed up with the simple maxim: cut displacement and add forced induction. Whether you are looking at the just-introduced 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or a BMW M3, this adage holds true. However, Pontiac's attempt at the idea goes all the way back in 1980 with the Firebird Trans Am and its turbocharged 4.9-liter V8. Drive's Mike Musto takes out a 1981 example to explain what makes this largely forgotten muscle car so special, and it certainly isn't performance. While a 4.9-liter V8 might sound like a lot in the modern world, keep in mind that only few years before the second-generation Trans Am was available with up to a staggering 7.5-liters of displacement. Turbocharging of road cars in the early '80s was quite archaic by today's standards, and the Firebird only managed around 200 horsepower with this mill. Without much go, the turbo Trans Am made up for a lack of power with lots of show. As Musto points out, the famous flaming chicken adorns practically every surface you can see on the coupe, and boost lights on the hood illuminate when the turbo is spinning. Musto still finds a lot to like about the turbo Trans Am. He even calls it "Burt Reynolds as an automobile." Find out why the coupe is so special in this entertaining clip.
