Just consigned from a private collection is this highly-collectible ’91 Firebird Formula WS6 with only 72.5k miles. This car came from the factory with great performance – which has been further enhanced with aftermarket performance parts. This car will satisfy your need for speed! And the brilliant Radiant Red color with  the ’86 Trans Am hood with air scoop and louvers will definitely get you noticed! The car has a nice stance and great street appearance. It runs and handles great. Everything works except the AC (which needs to be charged and wired). FLY IN AND DRIVE HOME.

The performance modifications were made mostly in 2010-2011 and the receipts come with the car including the motor build receipts. The current owner/collector is selling this vehicle from his collection as his tastes have changed. This is definitely a chance to purchase a performance sport car at a very reasonable price.

Body: The body is super-solid and clean. It all retains all-original sheet metal except for the customized ’86 Trans Am hood (the owner has the original hood which was not painted when the car was painted 2 years ago but will be included with the sale of the car at the buyer's option - any extra shipping costs not included). The body looks great! No repairs or accidents from what I can tell. No dents or rust. The red paint is vivid with a nice shine and great depth. Body gaps are nice and tight.

Interior: Interior has looks nice with gray cloth side-bolstered seats in nice condition except for the typical wear spot on the driver’s side from getting in and out of the car. The panels, headliner and carpets are in good shape. The dash is in nice shape. The gauge lenses are clear and intact. AEM digital gauges on A-pillar. All the gauges and electrical components work.

Drivetrain: This fuel-injected 383 stroker motor has been modified for serious performance. It was built in 2011 and the owner has the receipts from the build. It is a 4-bolt main block with Eagle pistons & rods, cast crank and aluminum TrickFlow heads. This is a full roller motor – roller lifters, roller cam and rocker rockers. The cam is a 500 lift steel billet cam. Holley stealth ram intake, MSD Eng & Acell DFI computer. It is all controlled by a Thruster Control Computer which is Fully Laptop Programmable. 1-7/8” ceramic-coated Doug's Longtube Headers. Custom 2.5" dual stainless steel exhaust with x-pipe & Borla mufflers. 700R4 transmission with 8” converter / 3500 stall. Aluminum drive shaft. The rear end is a 7.625. 10-bolt with 3:90 gears & Detroit Tru-Track slip differential with 30-spline axles. The engine does not smoke or make any unusual noises and has awesome power. The transmission operates very nicely with quick, snappy shifts in all gears!

Undercarriage: Is in excellent condition, no cracks or damage. Subrame ties. BMR K-member, tubular A-Arms and adjustable panhard bar along with adjustable torq arm and upper and lower tubular control bars. 4-wheel disc 11” brakes with drilled & slotted rotors. SBC calipers in front & stock calipers in the rear. Cooper tires are in nice condition.

Options: From the factory this car was equipped with…power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, power trunk lid, am/fm stereo with CD player and air conditioning.

Items to Note: The air conditioning is not wired up to the pump and also needs to be charged. The hood has some cracks where the scoop was molded on. Passenger-side tail light lens has a small crack. The car has no catalytic converters and therefore will not pass emissions tests required be certain counties. Buyer is responsible for compliance with any emissions requirements if applicable.

Car comes with clear Ohio title and keys.

Shipping: Shipping is the winner’s responsibility. I can help with local shipping and work with your shipper. If shipping out of the country I do have a shipper that can help make your arrangements. He ships mostly to the Scandinavian countries.

If you are requesting additional pictures please send me your email address. Ebay will not let me add any more pictures to the ad.

Consigned: This car has been consigned to me for sale, but I am not the owner. I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my extensive car expertise, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. There are no guarantees. There is no warranty. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle during evening or weekend hours. Information on other cars I am consigning is available at www.houseofmouseracing.com.

Balance due within 7 days of auction close as cash or wire only. Due to space limitations and subsequent auction listings, the car must be paid for and picked up with in 7 days unless both parties agree on other arrangements. If the terms of this auction are not adhered to, the car will be immediately relisted.

I am not responsible for any fees, or taxes or any out-of-pocket costs. Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty, sold as is. Vehicle has a clear Ohio title.

Will not ship but will try to work with you if you hire a shipping company. However, since this is my residence, arrangements will have to be made for the shipping company to pick up the car when I can be home to attend it. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and related arrangements and payments. Vehicle must be paid in full before it leaves my premises and I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving my premises.

Remember when placing a bid you are entering a legally binding contract. Ask all of your questions and/or come see the vehicle before you commit by bidding, because a bid is a commitment to purchase. Dishonest bid retractions will be reported to eBay and will result in you being blocked from bidding on any future auctions. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my items accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy purchasers.

Good luck and happy bidding!

Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Firebird

Sat, May 9 2020

From 1967 through 2002, the Pontiac Division offered the Firebird, close sibling to the Chevrolet Camaro. By the third generation, which debuted for the 1982 model year, it became more difficult to tell the two F-body cars apart at a glance and the Pontiac-exclusive engines of the earlier years disappeared, but the Firebird still retained its own personality and its own position in the GM marketing hierarchy. I still find the occasional 1982-1992 Camaro as I search car graveyards for interesting stuff, but the corresponding Firebirds have become scarce in recent years. Here's a base-engine-equipped '87, its Bright Red paint (yes, that was the official name for the color) faded by the Colorado sun as it awaits the crusher. Firebird shoppers had their choice of three engines in 1987: A 5.7-liter Chevy V8 (210 hp), a 5.0-liter Chevy V8 (205 hp) and the same 2.8-liter 60° V6 that went into the Fiero and countless front-drive GM sedans (135 hp). This car has the base engine. The third-gen F-body didn't weigh much (3,105 pounds for the '87 with six-banger, about what a 2020 Corolla weighs), so 135 horses was tolerable. Plenty of these cars got T-5 5-speed manual transmissions, but this one got the two-pedal setup. Camaro wheels, of course. Our Friend the Carburetor didn't disappear from new cars until the early 1990s in the United States, though electronic fuel injection had become very commonplace by 1987. Still, GM considered this car's EFI worth a door-handle brag. It's not worth fixing up a mashed six-cylinder third-gen Firebird, so we can see the route this car took to its final parking space. Junkyard Gem: 2004 Pontiac Vibe GT

Fri, Jun 26 2020

The New United Motor Manufacturing plant in Fremont, California, built Toyota-derived machinery — badged as Toyotas, Chevrolets, Geos, and Pontiacs— from 1984 through 2010, and some of the very last vehicles that left the assembly line were Pontiac Vibes. The Vibe, sibling to the Toyota Matrix, mostly served as a ho-hum transportation appliance and/or fleet car, but a factory-hot-rod GT version could be purchased. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those rare GTs, complete with the nearly unheard-of six-speed manual transmission, found in a self-service yard in northeastern Colorado. The regular Vibe had 123 or 130 horsepower, depending on the number of driven wheels, but the Vibe GT got the same 1.8-liter 2ZZ engine that went into the Celica GT-S. 180 horsepower, which was enough to make the 2,800-pound Vibe GT keep up with the 3,108-pound/215-horse Chrysler PT Cruiser Turbo that year. Sadly, no race series pitting Vibe GTs against PT Cruiser Turbos and Chevy HHR SSs on road courses ever materializedÂ… but it's not too late. The Vibe GT has something you couldn't get in a PT Cruiser or Chevy HHR, though: a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. In fact, the six-speed was the only transmission offered in the early Vibe GTs (an automatic became an option later on). You'll find plenty of three-pedal econoboxes from this era, because they were significantly cheaper than their slushbox-equipped counterparts, but the Vibe GT had plenty of competition from sportier-looking cars with manual transmissions in 2004. Not many were sold. This car is covered with nasty dents from golf-ball-sized hail (all too common in High Plains Colorado), so it may have been an insurance total that nobody wanted at auction. Sold in Wyoming, will be crushed in an adjacent state. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Fuel for the soul. Toyota had right-hand-drive Matrixes brought over to Japan from Canada, but a NUMMI-built version of the Vibe could be purchased there for a few years as well. This was the Voltz, and its advertising seems notably frantic even by the standards of Japanese car commercials.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Pontiac Firebird

Mon, Dec 18 2023

Last spring, this series featured a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS in a Northern California junkyard, an example of the final model year for the highly successful third-generation GM F-Body. On a later visit to that yard, I spotted the Pontiac sibling to that car, a Firebird that was born the same year at the same Southern California factory. When the Chevrolet Division introduced the first Camaro as a 1967 model, the Pontiac Division got its own version of the F-Body called the Firebird. While the two cars were built on the same chassis and looked very similar, the first-generation Camaros got Chevrolet engines while their Firebird colleagues got Pontiac engines (including the innovative SOHC straight-six). The 1970-1981 second-generation Firebirds still had some Pontiac-only engines, but Chevrolet and Oldsmobile power crept under some hoods during that period. The third-generation Firebirds first appeared as 1982 models, and they drew from near-identical stockpiles of GM running gear (including the distinctly agricultural Iron Duke four-banger, which could be considered a Pontiac-derived engine). When the Camaro got the axe after 2002, the Firebird's neck was put on the same chopping block. When the Camaro returned for 2010, the Pontiac brand was sputtering to an agonized halt during its final year and there was no chance of the Firebird's return. This car is a fairly ordinary coupe, though it does have the mid-grade 205-horsepower 5.0-liter Chevrolet small-block V8 instead of the base 140-horse 3.1-liter V6. A 5.7-liter small-block was available as well. A five-speed manual transmission was base equipment, but few Americans wanted a three-pedal setup by the early 1990s. This car has the optional four-speed automatic. The MSRP with 5.0 engine, automatic transmission and air conditioning (which this car has) started at $14,304. That's about $31,868 in 2023 dollars. It was built at Van Nuys Assembly in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County. By the dawn of the 1990s, the Camaros and Firebirds made at Van Nuys Assembly had become known as the worst-built GM cars made in North America, and the plant was shut down forever soon after this car was built. Today, a shopping mall lives where the factory once stood. This car managed to drive more than 150,000 miles during its life, so it beat the odds. The thrid-gen F-Body was pretty antiquated by the early 1990s, but the fourth-gen cars handled better and looked up-to-date for the era.
