2000 pontiac firebird hatchback coupe, black on charcoal interior, 3800 v6 205 horsepower, lots of power for a v6! 5 speed manual trans. fun to drive! car is factory stock , not hot rodded. Very clean interior in good condition. Body looks good, no rust outs, car has some scratches and dings and things typical of a car of this year and mileage.

It had new wheel bearings, and front and rear brakes, and tune up ( plugs and wires) about 5000 miles ago. Just had a new muffler and oil change. Runs good and has been very dependable. I drive this 75 miles a day to and from work.  135,xxx miles and growing.
Runs good and i got 28mpg highway on a recent trip. average 25mpg combination(70% highway.). Factory window sticker estimates 30mpg highway. looks sharp in and out . Its not new ,but its nice and still turns heads.

I want to notate all the issues I am aware of. The car still looks great and is very presentable. Most people would consider the cosmetic flaws to be minor. This is not a show car, nor is it priced like a perfect example would be. i want you to be 100% satisfied with no surprises.

Air conditioning only held a charge for two weeks, so there is a small leak somewhere . Service engine light is on, downstream o2 sensor code, this doesn't effect the way it runs and it still gets great gas mileage. Body has small dings and dents on both rear quarters, these are not real noticeable in my opinion. They are too small to show in the pics. can send more pics .  Tail light lenses broke. see pics. Typical firebird cracks on door panels and dash. Sun visor delete plates.  Average wear for a 13year old car with these miles in and out. May be some other minor things that i have forgot or you may find.  Ask any questions and I will try to answer within 24hours. Feel free to come inspect it. Car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.

I am not a kid selling his toy. I am a geezer wanting to buy a different mid-life crisis toy (trike) ;).

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

Burt Reynolds' old Pontiac Trans Am replica sold for $317,500

Thu, Jun 20 2019

Following Burt Reynolds' passing last September, Julien's Auctions held an estate sale of the late actor's property on June 15-16 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Hundreds of items were included in the auction, but none more valuable than the Pontiac Trans Am Bandit replica previously owned by Reynolds. It easily surpassed expectations when it sold for $317,500. Julien's, the self-proclaimed experts in contemporary and pop culture, listed 876 pieces in the sale, from cowboy boots to a driver's license to scripts. The online preview said it estimated a range of prices from $25 to $200,000. They were way off. Item No. 716 was a replica of a Pontiac Trans Am Bandit that was seen in the original "Smokey and the Bandit." Not the real car, just a re-creation. But its value comes more from who owned the ride rather than what the car was. The replica was owned by Reynolds for some years, and now that he's passed, it's coveted even more. It's not the only Trans Am item that sold at auction. Three Reynolds Trans Am model cars sold for $640, $576 and $512. A Reynolds-signed "Bandit" poster sold for $3,200. A Reynolds-signed poster from the Trans Am plant sold for $1,562.50, a Reynolds custom-built Trans Am office desk sold for $4,375, and a "Smokey and the Bandit" decorative etched glass panel sold for $896. This isn't the first time a Bandit replica has sold for big money. In 2016, a promotional Trans Am sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for $550,000. We also believe the exact car sold in this Julien's auction was previously bought at a Barrett-Jackson auction in 2018 for $192,500. If that's the case, somebody just made an extremely easy profit.

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.
