Middletown, Pennsylvania, United States
hello you looking at my 1996 firebird transam 2 door, t-tops, keyless entry, power window's,seats, locks , c/c tilt wheel, and so on, this is a project car, it has the stock 5.7 v8 350 motor ( lt1 ) corvette motor, it gets between 22-26mpg highway, 17-20 city, it has header's k n k air intake system
i bought this car a little while back as a project to work on a built and restore, when i had bought it the owner told me the tranny was new, after 2 months the tranny went out, so of course he lied before it went out i spent alot of $$ on the car, i have over 3800$ into the car, me and my wife are moving in a few months i hate to let it go but i dont see it getting done anytime soon, so anyway's the listing price is just to get it out, it DOES NOT RUN as of right now after the tranny went out, towed it home, and it sat for 2 weeks went to start it and it wouldnt so i bought a new battery 145$ total fee for the top of the line one they had gold, and still nothing so tested the alt and turns out the alternator was the problem go figure so anyways it needs a new alternator to start up, but if you search wengertime89 1996 rev the first video that comes up you can hear how it sounds, i did the video aug 20th 2013, not too long ago, it had no radio installed but the wires are not cut up at all and for 100$ you can buy a stock 1 and plug it right in, it needs work inside and out, but workable the motor is strong as an ox and fast extremely fast before the tranny went out i installed a hypertech chip, and controller and the headers custom the exhaust , there is not many cars around that can beat this car, posi rear, but again its a project its spray painted over the org factory paint, ( red ) there are a few cracks in the fiberglass see photos for , under the car is in excellent condition this is another reason why i bought it perfect for building on , to fix the cracks is not too costly either as its fiberglass the hood that is on now cost me over 500$ with shipping fee's its called a spyder 3 hood, i bought it to stand out not be like everyone else with a ram air hood, i planned on cutting out for the front vent for air flow to cool the eng bay down even more, its got locking gas cap, if the auction goes to 1,000$ i will add a new alternator that i just bought the other day for the car and brand new still sealed titanium header exhaust wrap and a new radiator hose ( it dont need 1 i just had this extra ) if it hits 1200$ ill add the org hood in greatt condition its still org red color and a brand new rearview mirror, and already pre-cut smoked window tint for the car i had it pre-cut but never installed , if it hits 1600$ or more i will add all that stuff and a set of dual chrome brand new exhaust tips 2 sets, very nice tips , brand new hood pins for the custom hood thats on, and brand new complete fog light set comes with the bulbs the actual lights wires and a custom switch if wanted to install, if it does hit 1600$ i might have more parts to add also, but anyways the carpet is in good shape, headliner is good shape, it has the leather seat options / power seats, but again the big thing is the motor its strong as if it was just broken in ive seen these motors sell on ebay for over 1,000$ but again i just want it gone and not have to move it to our new home in a few month's please keep in mind when you come get it it needs hauled back and you will have to figure out how to load it as it dont run, you can put it in gears to push is tho, clean title , cash only no check no wire's payment due within 15 days, if you can pick up the car in less then 7 days then you dont need to pay the deposit, here on ebay unless u want to, please message me with any q's ill do my best to answer on youtube search wengertime89 1996 rev other vids will come up the first one that comes up is the latest video of it, may i also add that ive spent alot of $ having a shop fine tune the hypertech chip it was done right, and it does chirp gears On Oct-18-13 at 12:57:40 PDT, seller added the following information:id also like to add that if the bidding goes 2,000 or more i will add all the parts i have, which all are brand new, new marker lights tail light covers decals , emble's etc over 400$ value can easly resell them or put them on the car On Oct-19-13 at 14:48:47 PDT, seller added the following information:great news i found even more parts and i found the original radio that was with the car from factory if the bidding hits 1500$+ i will add everything i have for the car well over 750$ in parts On Oct-21-13 at 14:29:15 PDT, seller added the following information:also found if bidding hits 1500+ t-top covers even tho in the back of the trans am see photo there is a holder for the t-tops to lock them in place from sliding around i still have t-top covers aswell and i have a brand new custom dash cover black carpet type, that goes on the dash, instead of putting a new dash pad you can put this over to cover the crack, or re sell it what ever u wish to do with extra parts is ur choice! i will keep looking for more parts if it hits 1,500$ im sure ill find more :P On Oct-24-13 at 10:56:25 PDT, seller added the following information:also adding a 1996 trans am maroon 1:18 full size diecast car , its new , and yes the hypertec power programmer comes with the car, it lets you change alot of setup including when ur fan kicks on and off, but like i said i had a speed shop tune it perfect, and also a 1996 metal med size brand new sign that says 1996 firebird parking only all others will be sold for scrap :P On Oct-24-13 at 11:03:13 PDT, seller added the following information:to get an idea what kinda power the car has also search youtube wengertime89 1996 chirp and also 96-trans am chirpin gear at 48mph |

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT
Wed, Nov 2 2022If you like affordable, mid-engined two-seaters, the 1980s were your decade. Fiat (and, a bit later, Bertone) offered the X1/9, Toyota sold MR2s, and even General Motors got into the act by creating the Fiero. Available from the 1984 through 1988 model years, the Pontiac Fiero showed plenty of promise but ended up being mostly disappointing, in some ways echoing the career of the Chevy Corvair of a couple of decades earlier. Today's Junkyard Gem is a once-spiffy 1986 Fiero GT, found in a self-service yard near Denver, Colorado. After a long and painful development period stretching all the way back to John DeLorean's XP-833 Banshee (which ended up being a major influence behind the original Opel GT), the Fiero finally debuted in 1983 as a 1984 model. The top-of-the-model-range GT appeared the following year. The Fiero was built as a notchback coupe and as a fastback, with all the GTs being the latter type. I couldn't get the engine lid open, but this car would have left the assembly line (in Pontiac, Michigan) with a 2.8-liter V6 rated at 140 horsepower. This car has a five-speed manual transmission, making it a credible rival for Toyota's MR2. The 1986 MR2 was less powerful than the Fiero GT (112 horsepower versus 140), but also scaled in significantly lighter (2,459 pounds against the Pontiac's 2,780 pounds). The MR2 also cost less, priced at $11,298 while the Fiero GT cost $12,875 (that's about $30,540 and $34,805, respectively, in inflation-adjusted 2022 dollars). Meanwhile, the $6,998 Honda Civic CRX two-seater lured away many potential Fiero buyers despite being a front-engined/front-wheel-drive car, and the $7,186 Ford EXP/Mercury LN7 also put a dent in Fiero sales. I can't find a price for the 1986 Bertone X1/9, but it cost a hard-to-believe $13,990 in 1984. GM still was using five-digit odometers in many vehicles by the middle 1980s, but this Fiero has a six-digit unit and thus we can see that it nearly achieved 150,000 miles during its driving career. The 1984-1987 Fiero suffered from a parts-bin suspension design, with the front suspension borrowed from the Chevrolet Chevette and the entire rear transaxle/suspension assembly lifted from the front end of the Chevrolet Citation. For the 1988 model year, GM finally spent the money to design an improved Fiero-specific suspension … and then promptly put a halt to production.
Pontiac Aztek rises from the ashes of infamy in Firebird Trans Am guise
Thu, Apr 9 2020What if the Pontiac Aztek, one of the most widely ridiculed vehicles ever built, was reimagined with a little flair from one of the former brand’s more legendary cars? Well, it turns out that someone not only came up with that idea, but followed up on it. And so, we present to you the Pontiac Aztek Firebird Trans Am, uh, trim package? ItÂ’s not real, of course, but it comes from Abimelec Arellano, an Hermosillo, Mexico-based car designer with too much time on his hands who goes by the name Abimelec Design. Arellano redesigned the midsize SUVÂ’s wimpy front fascia to surprising success by simply adding widened fender flares and perhaps modernizing the headlights. He also went all-in embracing the AztekÂ’s abrupt, flattened rear end by removing the rear bumper lip, adding a slightly more aggressive rear spoiler to boot. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Elsewhere, the dominating and cheap-looking gray plastic under-cladding is gone in favor of body-color panels. Arellano also added some probably larger Pontiac Snowflake wheels with gold accents that really make them pop and play well against the signature Firebird decal dominating the hood. Commenters generally fall into one of two buckets. As one put it, “I never thought the Aztek could look this good.” Others implored Arellano to do a version with a T-top. Or as one Autoblog editor put it, “So it turns out the reason the Aztek was a laughingstock failure is that it didnÂ’t come in a Smokey and the Bandit Edition. Somewhere, a dude who got shouted down in a product-planning meeting years ago is vindicated.” Sold between 2001 and 2005, the Aztek arguably reached the pinnacle of its notoriety as the metaphor for the drab, underachieving life of Walter White in AMCÂ’s meth drama, “Breaking Bad.” It came equipped with a 3.4-liter V6 that made 185 horsepower and sent it through a four-speed automatic to the front wheels, with an all-wheel drive version also available. The Aztek may have the last laugh, especially if it gets a screaming chicken. “The fact it was a controversial design and didnÂ’t sell well will make it an object of curiosity from a historical standpoint many years from now,” McKeel Hagerty, president and CEO of classic-car insurer Hagerty Insurance, told Autoblog back in 2016.
Junkyard Gem: 1964 Pontiac Catalina Custom Ventura
Mon, May 22 2023Like Impala, Skylark, Malibu and Silverado (among many others), the Ventura name began its career as the designation for a trim level or option package used on another GM model, then became a model name in its own right. Initially a designation for a snazzed-up Pontiac Catalina two- or four-door hardtop, the Ventura name moved over to a Pontiac-ized version of the Chevy Nova for 1971. Today's Junkyard Gem, found in a Northern California car graveyard, proudly bears both Catalina and Ventura badging. Actually, the Catalina name itself started out as a trim level for the Chieftain and Star Chief models of the 1950s, just to confuse everybody. By the time this car was built, the Catalina was the cheapest of four Pontiac models built on the same full-size B-Body platform as the big Chevrolets and Olds 88s of the time (the Star Chief, Bonneville and Grand Prix ranked above it on the 1964 Pontiac Prestige-O-Meter). The 1964 Catalina four-door hardtop with the Custom Ventura package offered a lot of swank per dollar, with a price starting at $3,063. That's about $29,821 when converted to inflated 2023 dollars. The main benefit of the Custom Ventura package was an interior done up entirely in Morrokide upholstery. Morrokide was the name GM applied to Naugahyde fake leather when used in Pontiac vehicles; when used in Buicks, it was known as Cordaveen, while Oldsmobile Naugahyde was called Morocceen. Naugahyde took its name from the town of Naugatuck, Connecticut, where it was invented. This car's Morrokide is in rough shape. In fact, everything about this car is decayed and probably infectious. You know to be careful when a junkyard car has warnings about rat feces inked on the glass. That said, I couldn't resist examining the 8-track tapes that littered the interior. Here's Hotel California, the 1976 hit album by the Eagles. Supertramp's Paris, a live album recorded from the 1979 Breakfast in America tour, is here as well. Here's The Best of Carly Simon, from 1975. The tapes were played on this Sparkomatic player, which probably lived in the glovebox or under the seat. The factory radio was AM-only, and includes the frequency markings for the atomic-attack CONELRAD emergency frequencies. 1964 was the last year for mandatory CONELRAD radios in the United States.
