Up for auction is my 1995 Pontiac Formula Firebird SLP Firehawk # 411. I purchased this car in 2005, I am the third owner. This is one of 569 1995 coupes converted by Street Legal Performance (SLP) located in Toms River, NJ. It is one of the 41 Purple exterior paint and one of the 23 with Grey Cloth interior. This is a true 315 HP car from SLP. All information related to the production numbers can be found at Firehawk.org. After purchasing this car I drove it roughly 4000 miles between 2005 until 2009. At time of purchase it had all the usual problems a LT1 has come to be known for over the years. I have repaired, replaced and modified this car to fix all the weak points it came with from the factory.
Engine :
New front, rear main seals and all new gaskets.
New timing chain and gear set. Replaced water pump drive bearing at the same time.
New upgraded water pump and 160 degree thermostat.

Reinstalled the factory 3" catback system from SLP.
Installed Corvette magnesium valve covers.
Installed SLP airfoil in throttle body.
Used a Hyperchip tuner on the computer.
Have Corvette fuel rail covers with installation hardware. Not installed.
Suspension :
New AGX Adjustable struts and shocks
New Summit Racing 1.25" drop springs.
New tubular frame connectors
Upgraded brake system to 1998 to 2002 system with stainless steel braided lines and drilled and slotted rotors with carbon pads.
Front Suspension :
New Energy polyurethane bushings and ball joints.
New 25MM sway bar.
New strut tie bar.
Rear Suspension :
New tubular rear lower control arms and panhard bar.
New trans tunnel mounted adjustable torque-arm.
New 35MM sway bar.
Fuel System :
New GM sending unit
Installed Racetronix fuel pump kit.
The car still has the orignal wheels and all center caps installed. The tires have less then 2000 miles on them at this time.
I have installed a 2000 Firebird center console, the orignal one is included in the sale.
Currently, this car has a few issues but they don't hinder the reliability or drivability.
The passenger side headlight door is in primer, that was the only spot of rust on the car.
The passenger door has a scrape on it.
The dash is cracked like every other Firebird/Camaro from the same era.
Just recently, the coolant level light has came on. the sensor has gone bad, I have checked the level manually and it is properly filled. I just haven't had the time to drain the coolant system and installed the new sensor I have for it.
Also included in the sale are the three GM service manuals for the 1995 F-Body cars, a new set of SLP Firehawk stickers for the exterior of the car, and a Hyperchip tuner.
All zero feedback bidders please contact me before bidding.

Junkyard Gem: 2010 Pontiac G6
Sat, Sep 12 2020What makes a discarded car a gem? Sometimes it's a car we all agree is very cool, and other times it's a car that tells us something about automotive history. Today's Junkyard Gem is the latter type: one of the very last Pontiacs sold, before The General shut out the lights forever on the storied marque after 84 years. The G6 was Pontiac's Epsilon-platform-based car, sibling to the Chevy Malibu, Saturn Aura, and Saab 9-3 (plus a bunch of Europe-only machinery). The very last Pontiac ever built was a white 2010 G6 sedan like this one (all '10 G6s were sedans, the coupe and convertible having been nixed in 2009), though that car was built in January of 2010 and this one came off the line in July of 2009. They build Bolts at the Orion Assembly plant these days. The higher-zoot G6s came with V6s or even V8s, but this car has "fleet machine" written all over it and has the base 2.4-liter Ecotec four-banger making 164 horsepower. Pontiac shoppers in the United States could buy the Vibe as a 2010 model as well, while Mexican Pontiac dealerships also sold new G2s (known as the Spark here) that year. The G6 was The Final Pontiac, though, bookending a run that began with the 1926 Pontiac Six. This one will go to its grave with the original owner's manual still inside. Even the cheapest 2010 G6s came with an AUX jack for the radio, a feature that was still maddeningly hard to find in rental cars a decade ago. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Before the bankruptcy and the gloom, optimism surrounded the G6. And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels. There isn't any overly flashy chrome or decals.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
