This is a great project that I'm putting up for auction but make no mistake it is a project. Up for Auction is a 1970 1/2 Pontiac Trans Am with Ram Air III 400 CID engine. This is a complete numbers matching original. Along with the Trans Am comes a donor car which is also a 1970 Firebird. I have owned this pair for about 6 years and intended to do a complete restore of the Trans Am. Unfortunately I have run out of time and am offering this opportunity to the highest bidder. If you have been watching the value of these cars rise then you know just how profitable a project like this can be. Read on for the details.

OTHER GOOD NEWS - The engine is a 400 CID RamAir III numbers matching with numbers matching card, distributer, exhaust manifolds etc. etc. The engine is supposed to be a good running engine but I can't vouch for it since I have not had it running. I would recommend that the carb be rebuilt at the very least and you will certainly want to remove it and have it inspected to see what it may need. It also has a good set of factory Ralley wheels with new tires. The transmission is the original transmission and numbers matching for the car. All receipts for everything that comes with the cars will be included with the purchase.
Let's be honest, I have about $17,000 invested in this project and have done a great deal of work procuring all the parts I have and the donor car. Once completed it is not unreasonable to realize a substantial increase in value 3-4 times the investment.
Please DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE MEANS TO COMPLETE THE DEAL. Don't forget that your bid is a binding contract. Keep in mind that you will have to trailer these cars and neither is drivable right now so to ship them will be a significant undertaking. I will help all I can to load things up on your truck or trailer but ultimately the shipping is your responsibility.
As you can imagine I am not able to offer any guarantee. As the first line of this description indicates this is a project. I will require a $500 deposit with Paypal within 24 hours of the auction close and the balance in certified funds within 5 additional days of the auction close. You should plan to pick up everything within 20 days unless other arrangements have been made.
Please ask all your questions well before the end of the auction. Also give me a little time to respond since I can't monitor my Ebay account all day.
I reserve the right to end the auction early since it is also listed locally.

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land
Thu, Oct 15 2015Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
Michigan floods from breached dams consume Pontiac Fiero collection
Thu, May 21 2020“WeÂ’ve never had an event like this,” Michigan's city manager Brad Kaye said in a Detroit News story. "What we're looking at is an event that is the equivalent of a 500-year flood." Kaye is referencing the catastrophic flood that occurred in central Michigan this week after heavy rainfall was compounded by two breached dams on the Tittabawassee River. Reports say the flooding forced evacuation of up to 10,000 residents, swallowed entire towns, and destroyed thousands of properties. No casualties have been reported, according to the Detroit Free Press, but car enthusiasts will be sad to learn a Pontiac Fiero shop and collection called Forever Fieros was decimated by the natural disaster. The Tittabawassee River is located about two hours, or roughly 140 miles, north of Detroit. It starts 20-30 miles further north and flows southeast as a tributary to the Saginaw Bay Watershed. Along the way, the Tittabawassee is held up by several dams, including the Edenville dam that failed and the Sanford dam that was breached during torrential downpours. According to NPR, the federal government took away the Edenville dam's license in 2018 and suggested it could not last through a major flood. Unfortunately, that prediction was proven accurate. Forever Fieros is located in Sanford, Michigan, which is just below Sanford Lake, which is created by the Sanford dam. So when the Edenville dam north of Sanford broke, water from Wixom Lake flooded Sanford Lake, and a berm next to the Sanford dam was overwhelmed, according to MLive. Technically the dam did not fail, but the end result was the same: an entire town underwater. The Tittabawassee reportedly crested at 35 feet, or 10 feet above flood level and 1.1 feet higher than the previous record set in 1986. According to The Drive, the man in charge of Forever Fieros, Tim Evans, had time to attempt to save his vehicles from floodwater. He reportedly moved about 12 cars to a street that doesn't typically flood, but the water level was simply too high for that to matter. A floating pole barn also reportedly struck and damaged the Forever Fieros building. Worsening the situation is the fact that Evans was planning to hold an auction to sell many of the Fieros. As seen on Industrial Bid, he planned to sell 12 Fieros, Fiero GTs and a Fiero Formula, ranging from 1984 through 1988. The lots included a 1984 pace car, a Lamborghini Countach kit car, and a Fiero Cosworth Pontiac Super Duty 16-valve DOHC engine.
