I have decided to sell my 1969 firebird. This is a clean example of a well maintained mostly original first generation f-body. I recently replaced the windshield and the entire windshield frame was rust free! (rare) The carpet is new, the battery is new, the center caps are new. Tires have full tread. The am/fm stereo works great. The paint is above driver quality. The body is in very nice shape. (couple door dings here and there) but overall nicer than 90% of the other 1969 cars I see out on the road. The original engine runs fantastic! Turbo 350 shifts as it should. Brakes in perfect working order. A real fun driver! With all original floors and trunk in beautiful condition. I have had several 1969 firebirds over the years and this is by far the cleanest one I have come across. It appears it has had some work on the quarters over the years but what 45 year old car hasn't? The interior looks great and appears to be all original and the odometer reads a tic over 79,000 miles and I believe that to be true. If the car doesn't reach reserve I am just going to put a big block in it and enjoy it for a while. Not selling it because I need the money. I have another one I put an ls1 in and I need to get that one finished. I will accept paypal for the entire amount if buyer pays 3% fee. And I will ship international after receiving full cleared payment

Baseball team to dress like Trans Am, complete with screaming chicken

Fri, Feb 8 2019

Come to think of it, the Screaming Chicken actually sounds like the name of a minor league baseball team. Well, it isn't, but the famous logo of the same name that graced the hood of the 1970s Pontiac Trans Am will at least be making it to a baseball uniform this summer. The Lansing Lugnuts, a Single-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will be rocking these special uniforms to honor the late Burt Reynolds and his film Smokey and the Bandit. By default, it will also be honoring the car the movie made famous: the 1977 Trans Am painted black with gold trim and, of course, the screaming chicken on the hood. This is a pretty good history of the emblem. So why the Lugnuts and Burt Reynolds? Although he claimed to be born in Georgia for much of his career, he admitted in a 2015 autobiography that he was in fact born in Lansing, Mich. After a few years, his family settled in Florida. Not exactly hometown hero stuff, but minor league baseball promotions have been made of more tenuous connections. The Burt Reynolds tribute night will be July 20, and if you want to get a screaming chicken jersey for yourself (I mean, wouldn't they be perfect for a cars and coffee?), the game-used jerseys will be auctioned off for charity after the game.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
