1969 Firebird, California car for over 42 years. Pro Engine rebuild with 500 miles(previous owner had built), 406ci, compression is about 10.5 pump gas friendly, Comp Cams RA IV cam, Harland Sharp roller rockers, stock crank, KB hyperutectic pistons, new timing cover, Edelbrock 72cc Performer RPM heads, Performer RPM intake, Quick Fuel 750 DP carb, Dougs ceramic headers, MSD ready to run dist. and aluminum pulleys. Front Suspension is Classic Performance Products(CPP) tubular control arms with QA1 coil-overs, new sway bar, end links, drag link, CPP forged drop spindles, CPP 12" rotors and single piston calipers with SS lines. CPP quick ratio steering box and pump. American Racing Torqlite wheels/BF Goodrich radial T/A tires with about 20 miles on them. Vehicle body is in great shape, I had left rear full quater and rear body panels professionaly replaced along with new door hinges. Floor boards and frame rails are in great condition. TH 400 trans with mild shift kit, mild stall and an external trans fluid cooler, I am not sure on milege on the trans or the Ford 9" rear with 3.89 gear, drums are in good shape. Has and Flex-A-Lite electric Black Magic cooling fan. Glass is in great shape along with window moldings. Included with car purchase are new side mirrors, new rearview mirror, new cast aluminum trans pan, used under dash harness with fuse block correct for 1969, 6 quarts of VR1 oil, trunk torsion springs, new black package tray shelf and misc items as pictured. The Bad.... Needs exhaust from headers back, leaf springs, parking brake cables, rear shocks, gas tank and lines. Interior is in good shape, will need new seat buns, carpet and the normal TLC that goes with restoring a 44 year old car. Will need all weatherstripping. Trans pan is leaking at gasket but new pan and gasket is included. The timing chain cover crank seal leaks a little. Car needs a speedo cable. The rear turn signals and brake lights do not function correctly because there is a 1968 under dash harness currently installed, I installed a new turn signal cam correct for 1969 and the connector on the under dash harness does mate as it should. Previous owner installed and alarm and sliced into harness. These two reasons is why I included a used 1969 harness. I also installed a new tail light wire harness. The fuel gauge does funtion correctly. Would recommend changing starter becasue of hot start problem when car has been driven and then turned off sometimes the starter will not crank until engine/exhaust cools down. I described car to the best of my knowlegde and car is sold AS-IS. Car is available for showing if needed. I will only accept Bank wire transfer or cash in person. Buyer is responsible for all shipping fees and arrangments. Please discsuss any payment/shipping issues prior to bidding... Thanks |

Junkyard Gem: 2010 Pontiac G6
Sat, Sep 12 2020What makes a discarded car a gem? Sometimes it's a car we all agree is very cool, and other times it's a car that tells us something about automotive history. Today's Junkyard Gem is the latter type: one of the very last Pontiacs sold, before The General shut out the lights forever on the storied marque after 84 years. The G6 was Pontiac's Epsilon-platform-based car, sibling to the Chevy Malibu, Saturn Aura, and Saab 9-3 (plus a bunch of Europe-only machinery). The very last Pontiac ever built was a white 2010 G6 sedan like this one (all '10 G6s were sedans, the coupe and convertible having been nixed in 2009), though that car was built in January of 2010 and this one came off the line in July of 2009. They build Bolts at the Orion Assembly plant these days. The higher-zoot G6s came with V6s or even V8s, but this car has "fleet machine" written all over it and has the base 2.4-liter Ecotec four-banger making 164 horsepower. Pontiac shoppers in the United States could buy the Vibe as a 2010 model as well, while Mexican Pontiac dealerships also sold new G2s (known as the Spark here) that year. The G6 was The Final Pontiac, though, bookending a run that began with the 1926 Pontiac Six. This one will go to its grave with the original owner's manual still inside. Even the cheapest 2010 G6s came with an AUX jack for the radio, a feature that was still maddeningly hard to find in rental cars a decade ago. This content is hosted by a third party. GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh
Tue, Jan 31 2017The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Check out the video above for more details on this flashy muscle car, as well as some reminiscing about the "good ol' days," and some history on the origins of the car's name. Related Video:
