350ci V8,4 Spd.Trans.,4Bbl Quadrajet Carb.Professional frame-on restoration just completed by lifelong Pontiac enthusiast/restorer.Body was sanded to bare metal, repaired of all
imperfections, then 2k primed and block sanded countless times. It was then refinished in its gorgeous original color of Meridian  Turquoise (K code) using high end Sherwin Williams
Base Coat/ Clear Coat, then wet sanded and buffed to a near perfect finish. The bucket seat vinyl interior was redone in its original Turquoise color, with an original Pontiac wood
steering wheel and aftermarket Kenwood CD player w/rear deck speakers added.Unfortunately,(or fortunately, depending on your perspective), the original ohc 6 cyl. was long gone,
so a Pontiac 350 from a 1971 Firebird was installed. The new 2-1/2" aluminized exhaust sounds great when you not listening to the stereo! The car retains all of its original exterior
sheet metal (quarters, fenders, doors, etc) but has had a trunk pan and rear passenger floor pan replaced.Correct 14" Pontiac Rally II wheels (JC code) w/ black PMD center caps
and 215/70/14 BF Goodrich Radial TA tires. The car runs, drives, shifts and stops excellent without any smoke or fluid leakage.Overall this car will make a great driver and local
car show/cruise night standout. For questions, further honest description or to make an inspection appointment please E-mail or call (208) 443-3208.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull.
