1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible Ac, Phs Documents on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:95389
Location:

Oxford, Mississippi, United States

This auction is for a 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. The car has been a southern car all its life and I have the complete owner history since new. It was purchased by a lady new in 1967. She owned it until approximately 7 years ago. I purchased it a little over a year ago from the man who purchased it from her. I have the PHS documents showing the following options: Factory AC (blows cold) Factory Console, PS, PB, Automatic, Rear Mounted Antenna, Factory Clock (does not work) and Electric Top along with a few more options shown on the PHS documents. The following items are all in working condition: Headlamps both bright and dim, windshield wipers, horn, parking brake, brakes, fuel gauge, oil pressure light, alternator dash light, water temp gauge, AC, heater, fuel gauge, power top, power steering, windows roll up and down very nice and power brakes.

This car runs and drives very nice. It goes down the road straight, the brakes stop straight, the transmission shifts great and has no issues, the engine runs great and has no issues. The car has Factory AC and it blows cold, the power top goes up and down with the push of a button. It has 4 new tires. A complete tune up was recently done witch included new plug wires, cap, rotor, points, sparkplugs, all 3 belts, thermostat, air filter and both radiator hoses. I also recently had the brakes serviced along with new wheel bearings installed and a new starter.

The car came from the factory Fathom Blue and looks to have had 1 repaint in Fathom Blue. It has the correct factory 326 V8 documented with the PHS documents. It still has all the original glass including the original windshield. The floor pans are in very nice condition and are original (see undercarriage pics). The original cocktail shakers are still in place and the original trunk splatter paint is still in the trunk.  The paint is nice but not show quality. It shines very well but does have nicks, scratches and minor dings. The engine compartment is tidy and original but has not been detailed. The top is older and the rear window is not very clear and has tape in places where the clear vinyl window has cracked. It functions fine and does keep the rain out but is showing its age. The interior is original and in good condition with new front seat covers sometime in its past.

I would describe this car as a very nice driver quality original car that runs and drives very nice. I have spent a lot of money making the car very reliable and fun to drive and I would not be afraid to drive it on any trip at any distance. As with all old cars there is no warranty. I require a $200.00 non refundable deposit within 72 hours of auction end and the remaining balance within 7 days of auction end via Cash or bank wire transfer. I encourage anyone interested to look at the car before purchase or have someone look at it for you. The title is in my name and is clear. My name is Mike and if you have any questions please feel free to call me at 662-816-8280.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Woman Cleared In Fatal Car Wreck After GM Letter

Tue, Nov 25 2014

A Texas judge cleared a woman Monday for a car accident that killed her fiance in 2004, after General Motors acknowledged that her car would have been among millions being recalled for a problem that may have contributed to the death. Candice Anderson was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion when it suddenly veered off a road about 60 miles east of Dallas and slammed into a tree. Anderson, then 21, was severely injured when the car's air bags failed to deploy. Her 25-year-old fiance, Gene Erikson, who was a passenger, was killed. She later pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the wreck. But during a hearing Monday, State District Judge Teresa Drum expunged the conviction from her record, according to officials in the Van Zandt County court andAnderson's attorney, Bob Hilliard. In a letter given to the court ahead of the hearing, an attorney for the automaker confirmed that Anderson's Saturn would have been among 2.6 million GM vehicles recalled in February to address ignition switches that can slip out of the "run" position, causing the engines to stall and disabling power steering, brakes and air bags. Anderson's crash "is one in which the recall condition may have caused or contributed to the frontal air bag non-deployment in the accident," attorney Richard C. Godfrey wrote. Hilliard provided a copy of the letter to The Associated Press, and Godfrey confirmed its contents Monday. Anderson was initially charged with criminally negligent homicide because there was no clear explanation at the time why the wreck occurred, according to court documents from the case. She pleaded guilty to a letter charge in 2006, and was sentenced to five years' probation. She also was ordered to perform 260 hours of community service, pay court costs and cover the costs of Erikson's funeral. "GM knew this defect caused this death, yet instead of telling the truth watched silently as Candice was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter," Hilliard said Monday. "It took 10 years for GM to find its voice." In a separate statement issued by the company, GM said it "cooperated fully by providing technical information that was requested to make a decision in this matter." The carmaker also said the issue in Anderson's case was for local law enforcement and courts to consider. "That's why we took a neutral position on Ms. Anderson's case," the company's statement said. "It was appropriate for the court to determine the legal status of Ms.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.
