Ok, I've had like a thousand people interested in this car offering me tons of trades and lowballing and never able to come up with the money, so let's try one more time. I have a very nice looking 1987 headturning Fiero with non-factory paint, a sharp orange. It has very low miles (76k) and starts right up, runs well, and shifts well. It is bone stock besides a polyurethane dog bone. The car is 26 years old, and has held up very well for being that old. It would make a good daily driver or project for motor swap, etc. It is by no means perfect, but every cosmetic issue it has could be fixed for under a grand according to the pricing I've done, which would make it nearly mint. It's a gorgeous looking, rare car. I will list every little thing I can possibly think of that is wrong with it. It is a manual transmission (5spd) and I replaced the clutch and slave cylinder 2 years ago which cost me $1400. I am the fourth owner, have clean title in hand. There are no dents or scratches. There is no rust on the body because the body is all plastic or fiberglass. The frame has minimal surface rust compared to most I've seen. I only drive this car once every two weeks or so, and I'm only selling it for room. I don't need the money, and I'm not desperate. I'm really more interested in cash than trades, though I will consider interesting ones. The car has power windows and locks and mirrors which all work. The radio and all speakers work. The pop up headlight motors work, which is semi-rare. Tread is good on the tires. I will list everything wrong with it now.
Paint-90% of the car is shiny and beautiful. The one portion around the sunroof and windshield pillars is starting to crack. And there is one small section on a piece of body molding on the driver's door that has chipped away as well. You don't see any of this unless you're close. Window outer weather stripping-the window seals on the outside work fine but are cracked and ugly in my opinion. Sunroof-(btw I have an extra sunroof) the seal around the sunroof needs to be replaced which is cheap. It doesn't leak but it's warped and will leak someday if not fixed. Rear deck-the springs are worn out and the deck has to be propped. The seal that goes around the inner trunk is starting to rip and eventually will need replacing. Interior-The interior is almost perfect except the seats. The drivers seat is torn up badly and there's a rip in the passenger seat. The rest of the interior is clean and beautiful. The seats need to be reupholstered or replaced. My leather guy said $300 for vinyl or $500 for leather. Craigslist and ebay have seats for anywhere from $50-150 usually. Speedometer-The speedometer goes crazy. The needle goes back and forth and doesn't work properly. I bought the car this way and never bothered fixing it. The tach and all other gauges work properly. My mechanic did a diagnostic and said it's just a bad gauge. A/C-worked when I bought it but blows warm now. Needs a recharge. But windows down works great and the sunroof lifts right out and can be stored under front hood. Windows-The windows work fine but go down very slowly. It's been this way since I bought it 4 or 5 years ago. Misc-The steering wheel shaft wiggles a bit and has some play. My mechanic said it's not worth it to fix and doesn't affect how it drives. He stated that it's a simple problem to fix, but complicated to take the whole thing apart. Driver's door-for some reason the key won't open the driver's door, only the passenger door. So I've always had to open that one and hit the unlock button from that side. I've never gotten it checked out, because I didn't care about it much. I think that's about it. The battery has been replaced recently. Oil has been changed every 2500-3,000 miles. Goes down the road great. It's like a little go cart for the road. I love this car, but I have 2 kids now and no space for both this and my motorcycle. I purchased it for $3,800 4 years ago with 62k on it and only has 76k on it total now. Then I had to stick $1,400 into it, so whoever can come up with the dang money is getting a deal. My name is Jon. You can contact me via text or call any time on my cell which is 215.888.5129 or use the e-mail on here. Thanks for looking. Any questions let me know. |

Florida man runs down bikers in traffic
Tue, May 31 2016A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery. Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
