For your consideration is an awesome 2 owner 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. I bought this beauty roughly a year ago from the original ownder and I have kept it in the same all original condition as I purchased it in. This car has never been in an accident. The original paint still looks pretty good for a 28 year old car as seen in the photos. The exterior has zero dents and the car has absolutely NO RUST anywhere. A small piece of the trim was missing when I bought the car, so I bought a new piece and painted it myself (as seen in the pictures). It looks pretty good, and unless I mentioned I painted that myself, you likely would not have noticed, I just try to be honest. Also, it is missing the right side marker (as seen in the photos). This is really, not a big deal considering you don't need it, and if you choose to replace it, you can purchase one here on Ebay for around $30. The wheels are in good condition and the tires have plenty of tread left.  The radio/stereo is all original and sounds fine. The interior in this car is in very nice condition! There are no rips or stains on the seats, and the original headliner is not sagging like on most Fieros. Also, this has the optional sunroof added, which is a nice addition. I removed the glass over the speedometer when I purchased it (as seen in the pictures) because the glass was looking fogged, if you want to replace the glass I am sure a replacement can be bought and installed easily and inexpensively.  The E-Brake is very hard to engage, and  I have hard a hard time figuring out how to use it since the day I bought it. Maybe I just don't know how to use it, maybe the cable needs tightening, I am not sure. I just made sure that I never parked on a steep hill, and I put the car in gear instead. Finally, the power windows,  power locks, and power head lights all work flawlessly! All in all, this is an original, great running, and solid piece of American Pontiac Muscle car history. If you're in the market to own a Fiero GT, this is the one for you. All original, less than 64,000 original miles, you will not believe this car is 28 years old. Simply put, you just don't find original unmolested Fiero GTs like this anymore.

This is a beautiful, sporty, and reliable car. I have taken this to local car shows over the past year and it really does garner a lot of attention. I mean how many cars can you buy for under $5000 and bring to a car show without doing any work?

Please contact Colton at 630-800-5143 with any questions or to set up an appointment to see the car. I will respond to emails, calls, or text messages. - Thanks for looking!

I really don't want to sell this car, but I just do not like driving a manual. The money I receive from selling this car is going towards another Fiero, but this time in automatic. There are not many Fieros left in this original condition, so don't miss your chance to pick up this American classic at a very affordable price!

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire coupe

Thu, Feb 21 2019

In a few months, we'll reach the tenth anniversary of GM's axing of the venerable Pontiac brand. G6s, Vibes, and Matizes continued to be built until 2010, but I'm noticing a marked decrease in discarded Pontiacs lately, as I perform my junkyardy rituals. Here's a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, photographed in a Colorado wrecking yard. The Sunfire was the near-identical sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier, based on the long-running (1982-2005) J-Body platform. It was cheap and simple, looked pretty sporty (at least in coupe form), and every parts store in North America carried just about everything you'd need to keep one running. This coupe had to compete for sales not only with a vast and menacing array of imports but with GM's own Saturn SC2 (not to mention the Cavalier itself). Meanwhile, the J platform was showing its age more with each passing year. This car sports what must have been the complete line of Fatal Clothing bomber-nose-art/skate-punk/gang-tag-influenced decals, circa 2010. I actually photographed this car back in 2011, then misplaced the image files until last week. The stickers are very California-centric for a Colorado car, but then plenty of Californians — including me— move here. When you know you're a car's final owner, it's a lot easier to whip out the paint pens and redecorate the interior. Power came from the engine GM developed for the very first J-Bodies: the 2.2-liter 122 pushrod four-cylinder. 2002 was the last model year for 122-powered Sunfires and Cavaliers; the most affordable S-10/Sonoma/Hombre trucks got this engine through 2003. It even came with a remote, so bad Midwestern farmgirls could make quick getaways when caught in the act by enraged broom-wielding mothers. Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
