Introduction Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS,LLC. You might recognize my name or my business name from beautiful classic cars and trucks I’ve listed for sale nationally. I’ve got over 15 years of classic car and truck experience. I’d like to put that experience to work for you. Over the years I’ve featured many classic cars and trucks at multiple different auctions across the United States. I consign multiple classic cars and trucks at all four of the Barrett Jackson auto auctions every year. I’m considered one of the top consignors at Barrett Jackson. I’ve had many classic cars and trucks sell in the top 25 highest sale priced vehicles for each event. They’ve also offered some of my cars as the “Marc Schiliro Collection”. I was fortunate to have Speed TV at my new facility for an interview for Barrett Jackson that aired during the Barrett Jackson auto auction in Palm Beach 2012. I’m a regular consignor at the Mecum auctions as well. I also have had many cars that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. I specialize in beautiful classic cars and trucks that have what I call “The Pop Factor”. I purchase classic cars and trucks that are finished, I redesign other people’s restorations and have also coordinated restorations from start to finish. I’m currently not doing full restorations as it takes too much time and money. I love what I do and I’m extremely passionate about it! Two years ago I opened a beautiful new facility located in Seekonk, MA. MS CLASSIC CARS is open to the public on Saturdays. We offer about 25 classic cars and trucks for sale. We also offer complete automotive detailing. Our facility is very neat and organized. When you call you deal directly with me. I appreciate the opportunity. We except all trades. If you’d like to be added to our VIP EMAIL BLAST that gets sent to thousands of people when we get a new addition please visit my website and sign up. Please also like us on Facebook for updates. The power of networking is amazing! Market I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over fifteen years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only at the auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially the classics! I've learned it's not just the United States; it’s the entire world. Barrett Jackson stated, "Foreigners can sometimes represent 25% of the registered bidders at one of our auctions." At the Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ 2011 they stated, "There was a registered bidder from every state in the USA.” I've also learned that no matter the gender or age, all different people appreciate this hobby. Another example would be the Barrett Jackson auto auctions; not only do millions of people watch it live on the Speed Channel but hundreds of thousands of people attend these auctions. Every year the attendance of visitors at the event and number of viewers on T.V. increase. Over the years I've noticed that the extremely detailed classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Currently the overall market is on the raise once again. Certain classic cars are on the rise and others are on the decline. Typically, the classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people don't own. In other words, there are classic cars that haven't saturated the market. The cars that are at every car show and auction and page on the Internet for sale are the ones that aren't changing in value or are slowly on the decline. Of course, if the car is spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. It's all about supply and demand, not a good or bad economy. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character. “I’m putting my money where my mouth is” I’m just a 38 year old blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was selling my classic cars and trucks part time. Although I had my used car dealers license I didn’t have a facility that was open to the public. Overall things were going just fine. However, my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership. I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership. I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen and now have a lot more overhead. Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong? I consign anywhere from three to eight cars at each Barrett Jackson auto auction at no reserve because I know there’s always going to be bidders for classic cars and trucks. The name “Fiero” in Italian means, “Proud”! MS CLASSIC CARS is proud to present a beautiful 1984 Pontiac Fiero Pace Car. Where do I start? This car has 171 original miles! Yes folks, 171 original miles! This car is almost thirty years old and you just don’t find 30 year old vehicles with 171 original miles. I’ve sold brand new Mercedes Benz with more mileage then this car. My first car was a 1984 Pontiac Fiero and ever since I’ve always been a big fan. I’m not the only big fan of Pontiac Fiero’s. If you were to google Pontiac Fiero Clubs you find tons of clubs not only in the US but all over the world! A lot of people don’t know much about the Fiero and think it was discontinued because lack of sales. GM sold 370,000 Pontiac Fieros within a short life span of four years. It has been stated by many people that the sporty, two–seater Fiero was the car that saved the Pontiac marque from extinction in the early 1980’s. GM claims the Fiero was discontinued because of poor sales and high insurance costs for owners. Many people believe the Fiero was discontinued because Chevrolet saw the Fiero as a threat to its Corvette sales. One thing is for certain, the Fiero is the car that played a key role in Pontiacs advertising theme of “We Build Excitement”. The most asked question I get about this car is, “How did you find it”? It’s a short but great story. This is the story: I recently sold a beautiful 1996 Jaguar XJS convertible to a gentleman in PA. During a conversation we were having I told him I collect many vehicles from the 80’s and 90’s such as a Camaros, Mustangs, Trans Ams, Grand Nationals and Fieros. A few days later he was having breakfast and was reading the classifieds section of his newspaper when he stumbled across a 1984 Pontiac Fiero Pace Car being sold locally. The ad read the car was 100% original with 170 miles. It also stated it was never dealer prepped and was a true time capsule. He immediately thought of me since I mentioned I collected Fiero’s and provided me the sellers information so I could call him. He was also classic car collector and was looking to move a few cars for space purposes. I jumped on the opportunity and purchased the car and the rest is history. Text from Enthusiasts Guide to the Pontiac Fiero: “The plastic bodied Pontiac Fiero was a two-seater, sporty-commuter car produced from 1984-1988 by General Motors. Within this short lifespan over 370,000 Fieros were produced. The Fiero was the first automobile to incorporate the use of a space frame design – which means that the plastic body panels were simply bolted onto a high strength steel sub-cage; the body panels do not provide any structural support for the car; they are only cosmetic. This state-of-the-art design was later used on General Motors Lumina Transport and all Saturn Automobiles.” “The base Fiero model equipped with the economy manual transmission achieved a mileage rating of 50 miles per gallon. The Fiero was available with either a gray or tan interior in Base, Sport Coupe, and SE body styles. The Fiero offered a choice of 4-speed manual transmission or 3-speed automatic transmission. Colors were red, White, Black and Silver Metallic. The 1984 Fiero was chosen as the Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500 that year- 2001 Indy Pace Car replicas were sold to the general public. Total production was 136,840 cars.” 1984 Pontiac Fiero Highlights: • First mass-produced American mid-engine sports car • 41 pilot cars were produced starting January 24, 1983 • Introduced to the public on September 22, 1983 • Production of the 1984 models spanned 18 months from July 1983 through December 1984 • Selected as the official Pace Car for the 68th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 27th, 1984; 2001 replicas produced which included one production build model not sold to the public • Became the top selling two seat sports car in American automotive history by April 1984 Window Sticker Information Selling Dealership: Lookwood Pontiac-Cadillac, Inc 17 N Broad Street Peekskill, NY 10566 Standard Equipment: 2.5 Liter L4 engine 4-speed Manual transmission P215/60/14 tires Rally Handling Suspension Hi-Tech aluminum wheels Tinted Glass Deck Lid Luggage Rack Power Disc Brakes Front and Rear Remote Fuel Release LH Remote Mirror Bodyside Molding Map Light Delco AM Radio with dual speakers Rack and Pinion Steering Reclining Bucket Seats MSRP $9,587.00 Optional Equipment: AU3 = Power door locks $125.00 A31 = Power windows $185.00 A90 = Deck lid remote release N/C BC8 = Interior ornamentation N/C B20 = Luxury rim group N/C B48 = Luggage compartment trim N/C CD4 = Continuous windshield wipers $50.00 C60 = Air Conditioning $730.00 D34 = RH vanity mirror $7.00 F75 = Axle ratio 3.18 N/C K22 = 94 Amp generator N/C K34 = Cruise Control with accel $175.00 LR8 = 2.5 liter EFI 4 cyl engine N/C MX1 = Automatic 3-speed transmission $425.00 N33 = Tilt steering wheel $110.00 QPV = P215/60/ 14 OWL tires $92.00 TR9 = Lamp Group $30.00 Y82 = Fiero LTD Edition- Indy Pace Car $2895.00 Destination $320.00 Total MSRP $14,895.00 The Y82 Indy Pace Car Edition included the following: Exterior: • White paint with medium gray metallic lower accents and red fade dot matrix striping • Specific areo package body panels including front and rear fascia, lower rocker panel extensions, door and fender cladding and rear deck lid spoiler • Specific 14” white Hi-Tech turbo cast aluminum wheels with red accent stripe • Special door graphics which were provided in car and applied by dealer if requested • Special front fender Indianapolis 500 wing, wheel chrome and cloisonn'e bading • Special front fascia badge featuring chrome plated metal base with cloisonn'e winged stallion “Indy Fiero” logo • White painted outside rearview mirrors Interior: • Seats with red milleken cloth inserts with Indy 500 logo laser depressed in upper panel, light slate gray cowhide leather bolsters and headrest, light slate gray vinyl seat cushion sides and graphite gray pallex seat back sides • Light red/dark red closed loop terrace carpet with matching floor mats • Sierra gray leather wrapped: door arm rests, shift knob and steering wheel with thumb notches as well as “Indy Fiero” logo in horn button • Gauge/Shift plate bezels are dark brushed pewter Engine: • Red spark plug wires printed with cylinder number and “Packard” in white • Silver painted rocker cover with black graphics • Silver painted air cleaner housing with black and red graphics • Stainless steel oil fill cap • Tuned dual twin port exhaust The 1984 Pontiac Fiero Pace Car is obviously one of the most collectable Fieros ever built based on what they were built for and the limited production numbers. The car I’m offering is not only a Pace car but it has 171 original miles! It could be the lowest mileage Fiero in the world! The fact that it’s a Pace car and the extreme low mileage makes it very collectable and valuable. This car has never been dealer prepped and still retains the original window sticker on the driver’s window and the original plastic on the seats and carpets. It looks, runs and drives excellent. Get on the internet and google Fiero Clubs. You’ll find tons in the US and all over the world! This car will be a great addition to any collection and will only increase in value over time. Get it before someone else does! *** Inspection Report*** If you read my introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree that I’m a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic cars and trucks. My reputation and feedback speaks for itself. No vehicle is perfect and I want to be 100% upfront about each car. This car is 29 years old and isn’t perfect. No vehicle is perfect! Please call me at #508-557-0152 or email me with any questions. I’ll tell you everything I know about the car and go over the entire exterior panel by panel if need be. Thank you. Marc Schiliro “The Owner”. Conclusion Classic cars and trucks make great investments and are extremely fun to own. It’s so exciting to search for a classic, purchase one and watch it come off the trailer, add your own touches, take it for a ride or just look at it sitting in the garage after a hard day at work. Classic car and truck collectors aren’t just in the United States but worldwide. The classic car and truck market is growing every day. It’s seen at car shows and auctions, in magazines and on TV shows. Get your new classic car or truck today. You only live once, if you can afford it, do it! I do the best I can to represent my classic cars and trucks. My results, feedback and reputation speak for themselves. Everyone’s opinion of a classic car and truck is different and I encourage questions prior to a purchase. I have a beautiful showroom with excellent lighting and a lift for a complete inspection if requested. Inspections will be scheduled by appointment only. The closest airport is Providence, RI. It’s only a 25 minute ride from the dealership. I can arrange to pick up at the airport. I also have a dealer plate that would allow for a test drive with a valid driver’s license for a serious buyer. Please call 508-557-0152 or email for any questions. Thank you. Junkyard Gem: 2009 Pontiac G3
Sun, Mar 28 2021Things weren't looking so rosy for Pontiac Division in late 2008, as The General had troubles of its own that culminated in Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June of 2009. Meanwhile, the Solstice and G8 had failed to revive Pontiac's youthful "excitement" image. Naturally, this seemed like the ideal time to put Pontiac badges and a new grille on the Chevrolet Aveo (itself a rebadged Daewoo Kalos) and call it the G3 (in the United States) or the G3 Wave (in Canada). Sales were not brisk, to put it mildly, and the 2009-only G3 has become one of the rarest modern Pontiacs in the junkyard world. The announcement of Pontiac's demise came in the spring of 2009, with the very last Pontiac-badged vehicle built being either a G3 or a Vibe (since those cars were really Daewoos and Toyotas, respectively, the true final Pontiac was the 2010 G6). The Aveo itself disappeared after the 2011 model year, replaced by an updated Kalos design known here as the Chevrolet Sonic. As a result of the GM bankruptcy, termination of the Pontiac brand, a nasty worldwide recession, and the preference of American vehicle shoppers for trucks or at least truck-shaped cars, few knew the G3 existed and fewer still thought to buy one. This is only the second G3 I've managed to find in a car graveyard, and I've been searching diligently. So, it's a Junkyard Gem in the historical sense, not in the sense of being the kind of car you'd want to take to your 20th high school reunion. That said, it has power windows, air conditioning, and a CD player— pretty nice stuff for a dirt-cheap econobox from a decade back. And look! An AUX jack for your iPod or early-model smartphone. I drove dozens of cheap rental cars for my job with the 24 Hours of Lemons Traveling Circus during the late 2000s, and very few had this feature; until about 2013 or so, you had to travel with your own CDs or one of those horrible wireless FM modulators if you wanted to listen to anything other than the radio in a non-high-roller rental car. Under the hood, a 106-horse Daewoo Ecotec displacing 1.6 liters. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. If there were any television commercials for the G3, I guarantee that they weren't as fun as this one— set in the California high desert, of course— for the SKDM Kalos.
Junkyard Gem: 1980 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ
Sat, Mar 4 2023A couple of years before John DeLorean and his team at the Pontiac Division created the GTO by pasting a big engine and some gingerbread on the LeMans, they created a rakish, powerful coupe based on the staid full-size Catalina. This was the 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix, which sold like crazy and escalated the personal luxury coupe war already brewing in Detroit. Starting with the 1969 model year, the Grand Prix switched to a smaller chassis (shared the following year with the new Chevrolet Monte Carlo), and all subsequent rear-wheel-drive Grand Prix (that is, through 1987) remained siblings of the Monte. Today's Junkyard Gem is a rare 1980 Grand Prix LJ, found in a self-service yard near Reno, Nevada. Sure, a fresh round of Middle East conflict had put a kink in America's fuel hose in 1979, leading to gas lines and a general sense of malaise, but at least the new Grand Prix looked extra sharp for 1980. The LJ package came with all sorts of appearance and comfort goodies, including these "luxury seats with loose-pillow design in New Florentine Cloth." A Pontiac Phoenix LJ was available as well. These seats must have been very comfortable when new. Who needed a Cadillac when Pontiac would sell you this car at a base MSRP of just $7,000 (about $26,704 in 2023 dollars)? That price was what you paid if you were willing to get the base 3.8-liter Buick V6, though. To get a V8 engine with four-barrel carburetor, you had to pay extra. If you did pay the extra for a V8, which one you got depended on which state you lived in; in California, you got this 305-cubic-inch (5.0-liter Chevrolet small-block), and in the other 49 states you got a 301-cubic-inch (4.9-liter) Pontiac. The 305 was rated at 150 horsepower with 230 pound-feet; the 301 made 140hp and 240 lb-ft. This car was originally bought in California (the state line is about ten miles away from its final parking spot), so it has the Chevy engine. The V8 added $195 (plus $250 for the California-only emissions system) to the out-the-door price of the car, or about $1,316 in 2023 dollars. Outside of California, a 4.3-liter Chevy V6 was available for just 80 additional bucks ($305 now). All 1980 Grand Prix got a three-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, with no manual available from the factory. This car has the optional air conditioning, which cost $601 ($2,293 after inflation). This is the "Custom Sport" steering wheel, which was standard on the LJ. The tilt option cost $81 ($309 today).
Pontiac could be a phoenix rising from the ashes
Tue, Apr 18 2017Of the deceased American car companies from the past 50 years such as Hummer, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth and Saturn, I believe the most worthy resurrection would be Pontiac. After all, it's no longer politically correct to drive an ex-military vehicle with single-digit gas mileage, nor do Millennials and Gen-Xers desire AARP-associated nameplates such as Mercury or Oldsmobile. Pontiac was originally founded in 1893 by Albert G. North and Harry G. Hamilton as the Pontiac Buggy Company, due to their location in Pontiac, Michigan. But as the early 1900s automotive revolution took off, they shifted their focus from horse-drawn carriages to motorized transportation. Taking a cue from Oakland County where they were based, they rebranded their organization as the Oakland Motor Company. Within a couple years, sales of Oakland cars were so good that it caught the attention of General Motors and they bought the company. In 1926, GM premiered the first Pontiac and its name drew inspiration from the legendary Native American War Chief, who was famous for the Battle of Bloody Run and opposition of British forces. His likeness was used in early promotional materials as well as the vehicle's emblem which was referred to simply as the "Indian Head". In 1956, the outdated emblem was replaced with a new, sleeker logo that resembled a red arrow head. It was known as "The Dart" and featured a singular star in the center which may have been a nod to Pontiac's successful Star Chief model. The 1960s saw the introduction of several popular models such as the GTO and the Firebird. The GTO was initially offered as an option package on the 1964 Tempest, and the name was the brainchild of John Delorean, who would later go on to form his own eponymous automobile company. The Firebird debuted in 1967 as a pony-car foil to Ford's award-winning Mustang. Although mechanically similar to Chevrolet's Camaro, the Firebird boasted a distinct sheetmetal nose and tail to help visually distinguish it. The 1980s were another adventurous time for Pontiac, and GM took advantage of the sales momentum by running a successful ad campaign. It proclaimed "We Build Excitement" and highlighted an arrangement with musicians Daryl Hall and John Oats. The fiery Fiero was a home-run for Pontiac and it was introduced in 1983 as an '84 model. Not only was it the first U.S. produced mid-engine sports coupe, but it also utilized lightweight, dent-resistant body panels.
