1963 Pontiac Catalina Base 6.4l on 2040-cars
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States
1963 Pontiac Catalina, 2 door hardtop, 389 V8, 700R 4 speed automatic, dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers, power steering, power brakes, factory A.C., red exterior with three color red interior. It has bench seats in the front and back. This vehicle has been beautifully restored inside and out. All components of the vehicle are in good working order with the exception of the air conditioning which is non-functional. The power train, body and interior are all in excellent condition. The vehicle has been stored winters and always garaged when in use. We use this vehicle as a Sunday driver and have participated in several local small town parades and car shows. We've owned this vehicle for 6 years and it has been an absolute joy to drive. This car turns heads and elicits many "thumbs up" and warm friendly greetings wherever we go. Our hope is to find another interested party who will enjoy this car as much as we have. We have priced this vehicle several thousand dollars below fair market retail price. At our "buy it now" price, this vehicle is an excellent investment. It is currently insured with Hagerty Insurance at the “agreed upon” value of $20,000.00. Another independent valuation source is NADA Guides. Please see the link below showing the market value of our vehicle using this nationally recognized source. We estimated the condition of our vehicle to be comparable to the average retail value for the purposes of this guide. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1963/Pontiac/Catalina/2-Door-Hardtop/Values. We would encourage any interested buyer to pursue an independent inspection of their own before purchasing a classic automobile. When we purchased the vehicle from the previous owner, we paid a nominal fee to have it inspected by a trusted local mechanic in order to ensure it was worth the investment we were making. Even more important than the valuation, we wanted to be sure the vehicle was mechanically sound as it was 45 years old at the time. We were very pleased with the results of the inspection and made the purchase with no reservations. Over the last six years we’ve only needed to perform routine maintenance on the vehicle. We will also be advertising our vehicle locally and reserve the right to sell it to the first interested party who is willing to offer us our asking price of $17,995.00.

BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium
Fri, Jun 12 2015Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull. Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?
Fri, May 27 2016When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
