1960 Pontiac Catalina Package Deal on 2040-cars
Central City, Nebraska, United States
Here is a package deal for all you pontiac fans out there!! Two cars for the price of one. The two cars are as follows- White catalina VISTA or four door hardtop. 93k on car. Picked up a few years back out of illonios as a roller. I did find out motor was full of water and junk, trans looks like its full of water too by the fluid color. Nice options on car, outer body good, needs usual floor and trunk work, glass is good. missing drivers door panel. Title in hand. Second car is Starchief sedan. This one is loaded with options as most starchiefs were. This is a western car and is pretty solid. Has been wrecked judging by rear end. This car is also a all original car with 30k on it. Missing tie rod on pass side and worse rust in on drivers side rear where quarter was replaced....poorly, passenger side is beat up. I love 60 pontiacs, have had several in the past and have tons of parts for these cars also. Just need to focus on other things in my life now and you know how it goes. Dont want to sell but cant enjoy them just sitting there not getting any attention either. I can answer more questions over the phone or by email. I work 12 hour shifts so time is short during the week. Weekends are open usually. Yes i know these are 4 door cars but still, in this era they are still cool and affordable. By all means u got a two door or know of one ill trade for a coupe in decent shape. Not holding my breath tho. Have titles for all and extra parts for extra money, including a vintage aluminum offenhauser tri power intake minus carbs and thermostat housing, and a NOS MINT condition Tri Power air cleaner for the 347-389, as well as a complete running 389 out of a different starchief, with trans. Car had 70k miles and ran and drove when pulled two yrs ago, and it ran great, car was too far gone to save. Plan was to put that in the white vista since the original motor was junk. If interested i do have the original block for the vista but cannot claim it is uncracked and useable. I did pull it out for disassembly and it was bad inside. Everything was rusted solid. Can call after 6pm my time(nebraska-central) week days or wait till weekend. Call Tom at 308-750-3571, leave message if no answer and will try to reply to emails soon as i can, so please be patient. THANK YOU and must have a feedback of 7 or more, sorry but too many tire kickers or what not. This is not a game or fantasy ebay!! Its for real so do the same. Buyer responsible for shipping, can store cars for a reasonable amount of time as long as cars are paid for. They are currently stored inside and can remain that way.
Immediate deposit of 500.00 required with remainder payed within 7 days. Will work with serious buyers, like a 50 50 split, for example half paid for up front and half on pick up ect. BUT none is refundable for any reason so be prepared to follow through with transaction.

Vitruvian Energy crowdfunding to make EEB, a trashy biofuel
Sat, Nov 22 2014When sewage is treated at a wastewater treatment facility, biosolids are the byproduct. After being separated from the water, biosolids are usually sent to a landfill or incinerated. That doesn't mean that they're without value, however. Vitruvian Energy has created a process to make a usable fuel out of this human waste product, and while the source is pretty gross, it is undeniably abundant, and the results are much cleaner. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon. In a process that Vitruvian Energy claims is energy efficient, biosolids are femented and introduced to a type of bacteria to create PHA plastic. Reacting the PHA with ethanol creates the ethyl-3-ethoxybutyrate (EEB) biofuel. Vitruvian says EEB can be blended up to 20 percent with gasoline or diesel without any engine modifications. This lowers the carbon footprint of the fuel it's blended into, and serves to oxygenate diesel, leading to fewer harmful emissions. EEB can also be made using other organic waste products, such as corn stover, rice straw and distillers grains. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon and isn't subject to the maddening market fluctuations and international politics of fossil fuels. Furthermore, EEB's carbon footprint is 70 percent less than that of fossil fuels. Vitruvian also sees potential for EEB to be used on its own to power vehicles or burned to produce electricity for the grid. So far, Vitruvian Energy has used grants from the California Energy Commission and National Science Foundation to develop EEB, and has tested the fuel in a Pontiac Solstice at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Now, Vitruvian is wants to test EEB on a larger scale in the real world in order to prove EEB's viability to interested parties in the wastewater treatment industry. In an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, Vitruvian Energy hopes to raise $200,000 to build a prototype EEB production line and to run a test vehicle for a year on an EEB-diesel blend on the streets of Seattle. Donors can score some interesting perks such as shirts and bumper stickers that say "Get Clean with Poopaline." Learn more about EEB in the video and press release below. Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Junkyard Gem: 2008 Pontiac G5 Coupe
Sun, Apr 9 2023In the grim early days of the Great Recession, the situation at GM's Pontiac Division didn't feel so great but there was some cause for optimism. The Solstice still had a certain glow, the Holden Commodore-based G8 had just arrived, and vehicle shoppers could stride into their local Pontiac showrooms and choose from eight different models bearing the iconic arrowhead badge. Yes, there were still new Torrents and Grand Prix and Vibes for sale in 2008, and of course the Cavalier-twin Sunfire had been replaced by the Cobalt-twin G5 by that time. Here's one of those G5s, found in a Colorado Springs car graveyard. It wasn't long after this car was built that everything went to hell for Pontiac. In April of 2009, GM announced that the Pontiac Division would be "phased out" over the next few years. Just to drive home the point, GM itself filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy five weeks later. GM had already offed Oldsmobile—a marque dating back to 1897, making it nearly 30 years Pontiac's senior—five years earlier, so everybody knew there would be no reprieve in this case. Just to confuse everybody, Pontiac dealers offered a G3-badged Chevy Aveo (aka Daewoo Kalos) to sell alongside the G5 for 2009, but by 2010 there were just two new Pontiac models still standing in the United States: the G6 and the Vibe. Just over 70,000 G5s were sold in the United States during the 2007-2009 model years, making these cars fairly rare. The Cobalt/G5 ignition-switch fiasco of the mid-2010s really hammered their resale value at the time. Sometimes the definition of "Gem" refers to historical value, not the happier kind. Speaking of ignition switches, the key is still in this one. That generally means that a junkyard vehicle is a dealership trade-in or insurance total that couldn't sell at auction. This one is a base model, which listed at $15,675 (about $22,040 in 2023 dollars). The snazzier G5 GT started at $19,850 ($27,911 now) that year. The engine in this car is a 2.2-liter Ecotec four-banger rated at 148 horsepower and 152 pound-feet (the GT got a 2.4 with 171 hp/167 lb-ft). A five-speed manual was standard equipment, but the buyer of this car paid extra for the automatic. GM stuck these little "Mark of Excellence" badges on the fenders of its vehicles starting in 2005, then ditched the idea in 2009. I have vivid memories of this logo from the seatbelt buttons in my parents' 1973 Sportvan Beauville.
