I'm selling a 1959 Pontiac Catalina Vista. This car runs and drives, but it has a bad fuel line--so it doesn't stay running. It's a 4door hardtop with a flat roof. It has a Pontiac 389 in it. Automatic transmission. Needs new brakes, but some of the parts come with it. The body is very solid--but has some surface rust and some small rust holes (photos included). Trunk and floors are all good. Frame is in excellent shape. Exhaust looks good but not positive on actual condition. Tires are ok, but the rear ones are snow tires. Interior is decent and all there except for driver side door panel (missing). Seats look decent also, but need cleaning. Headliner is real nice. Has all glass, but small chipin windshield-drivers side. Comes with clear title. Car is being sold as is. Payment to be made by wire transfer. Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
