First off, I am listing this car for my father who is the original restorer. He is available for questions and I encourage you to ask any prior to bidding.  All questions need to be sent through the contact seller option.

Up for auction is this beautiful 1965 Pontiac Bonneville convertible that is being sold as a “period correct” restoration with some minor modifications from original.  It has a period correct 333hp 389 big block V-8 and a turbo 400 automatic transmission.  It has the Posi-traction rear axle and the very rare and desirable 8-lug wheels with fresh tires. Power windows, power top, power seat, a factory stereo in an uncut dash that is trimmed in real wood that was the trademark of these classic cars. The stereo still has reverb kit. Although it is in non-working condition as finding somebody capable of repairing proved to be difficult. There is no factory A/C option on this car and A/C was never added. Custom cloth velour seats over original factory frames are very comfortable, even on the long road trips. The odometer reads approximately 17,400 miles and was reset at the time the car was restored. There were a couple of donor cars involved in this build, therefore this is not being represented as a “numbers matching” car. So please do not ask if the numbers match, and please do not expect them to. The VIN matches the car as it should be and the title is clean. Only body parts and mechanical components were used from the donor cars, no funny business with the VIN.

This car was built to be a driver and that is just what has been done with it. The motor and transmission were both rebuilt at the time of restoration. Therefore the odometer reading is correct for the drivetrain. The convertible top is the original one that was put on the car at the time of restoration. There are a couple small holes in it (see pics) from something inside the well rubbing through it. There will be a brand new top, still in the box included for the new owner to install. The tires were replaced a couple years ago due to a tread separation on one of them. There is less than 500 miles on the tires right now. The car was repainted 4 years ago after a small garage door incident on one front fender. For fear of the paint not matching, the decision to repaint the entire car was made. I will not misrepresent the paint by using words like perfect, flawless, or show winning quality. However, I will say that it is glossy, with a shine that turns heads everywhere it goes, and is great for a “driver car”.

Bidding will start at $10,000 with an undisclosed reserve that I will say is set at under 20k.

Car is for sale locally and auction may end early if sold

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

GM Recalling Another 2.7 Million Vehicles In Five Separate Campaigns

Thu, May 15 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles – some of them the same models – but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago. The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents. A further 112k Corvette models from the 2005-2007 model years are being called in for problems with their low-beam headlamps resulting from a flexing relay control circuit wire that's not meant to bend. GM says it is "aware of several hundred complaints" about this issue, but notes that there have been no reports of related accidents. In addition, over 19k examples of Cadillac CTS from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled over windshield wipers that might not work after a jump start. Finally, GM is also bringing in 477 examples of its 2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra (though not the Yukon) to fix a problem with a tie rod in its steering rack. As ever, all recall repairs will be performed free of charge, and GM is now estimating that recall-related actions this quarter will result in an estimated $200-million charge against its second-quarter earnings. Read the full announcement from GM below for further details.

2020 Porsche 911 Speedster spied with an angry driver

Wed, Feb 13 2019

Porsche gave us details and showed us a concept of the 911 Speedster at the Paris Motor Show. Today, we bring you spy shots of what appears to be the production version of that concept with a few changes on board. They're rather minimal modifications, but the Speedster's driver appears especially angry with our spy photographer as he extends his middle finger directly toward the camera. Sorry, not sorry, Mr. Test Driver. Public testing of pre-production cars always comes with photo risks, and Porsches tend to attract more attention than others. You'll notice what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe prototype we've previously spotted running around with the 911. The Speedster Concept we saw in Paris had epic retro mirrors and fuel cap on the front hood, but both those design touches are absent from this pre-production car. It's tougher to see, but we lost the vents in between the two humps, as well. Everything else appears to have made it to production-spec. We can't say we're surprised these concept car features probably won't show up on the production car, but it is a tad deflating. You'll notice the Speedster is based-off the 991.2 generation of 911 and not the new 992. Porsche did a similar thing when the 997 generation was coming to an end with a Speedster model paying tribute to that car's life. The chassis is said to utilize parts from the 911 GT3, and the wonderful naturally aspirated flat-six engine gets carried over from that car, too. Porsche didn't specify if power will be exactly the same as the GT3, but we'll be expecting about 500 horsepower and a 9,000 rpm redline. We were told the six-speed manual would be offered on the Speedster in Paris, too. Let's just say that we strongly approve of that combination. Production will be limited to only 1,948 cars and begin in the first half of this year. We'll expect a reveal with a full spec breakdown soon, possibly for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
