This is an auction for a unique opportunity. What I have is a 1962 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible that is in the process of a full body off restoration that I estimate to be about 85% - 90% complete. Take a look at the pictures and feel free to call me if you would like to ask detailed questions. I have over $35,000 invested in body/paint/engine/trans/parts for the car. I do have a 1962 Bonneville convertible parts car without a title. You are welcome to that as well or any parts from it if I don't sell it before this project sells but you really do not need anything significant to finish the other car. My reason for selling is that I have sold my shop building and don't have any place to complete the car nor any real opportunity because of my job to finish. My loss will truly be someone else's gain.

I have all receipts for the car from the beginning and they will attest to the amount of my investment. All the receipts and history of the car will be given to the winner. The engine is a 1969 428 CID Pontiac four bolt main balanced and blueprinted by a top notch speed shop in Port St Lucie, FL It includes a Offenhauser dual quad intake and two Holley Carbs. The expected horsepower is 575HP. with a brand new T10 Four speed transmission. It has Dual Exhaust aluminized 2 1/2" in diameter. The frame was blasted and painted with Por 15 and every fastener and part was replaced if needed. New body mounts, gas tank all wheel and brake components etc. All body and paint work has been completed by a master local body shop and the car looks great.

The interior is brand new to original specs. I have all the restored interior with the exception of the drivers side bucket seat which was consumed in a fire. (long story) so you will need to get a different seat and have it upholstered to match. I have the convertible top canvas/pad and all brand new hardware to install. I do not have a rear widow for the top.
The side moldings on the car are NOS originals except the left front fender and the drivers door. Again please look at the pictures closely and please ask your questions in advance. I can't monitor my email all day but I will get back to you as quickly as I can. The car will have to be trailered so please keep that in mind. You are encouraged to come and see the car for yourself but you will need to set up an appointment to do so.
I have a clear title for the car. The extra parts car does not have a title so it must be used for parts only. I still have plenty of good body parts and the frame so if you wanted to part it out you could recover some of your costs. I'm sure I am leaving something out but not intentionally. Again please feel free to give me a call if you want to discuss any details. Contact me through ebay and I will send you my phone number.

I am not able to offer a warrantee for obvious reasons but you will not be disappointed once you see the car and all the extras that come with it. It could be finished up in a short period of time if you have the place and opportunity to get at it.
I require a $500 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of the auction end and the balance within 5 days of the auction end. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs but I will assist you in any way I can.
The reserve price already represents a considerable loss on my part so please respect that I can't give it away. Also please plan to pick ip up within 20 days unless we have agreed to other arrangements. I did sell my building so I need to have it gone soon. Thanks for looking and reading this entire description and good luck with the auction!  PLEASE ARRANGE YOUR FINANCING IN ADVANCE and PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO COMPLETE THE SALE.
THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO CASH IN ON ALL MY EXPENSE AND WORK AND ONE THAT MAY NEVER COME ALONG AGAIN.

Junkyard Gem: 1989 Pontiac Sunbird SE Coupe

Sat, Jun 11 2022

General Motors built the fantastically successful J-Body cars starting at the dawn of the 1980s and continuing well into our current century, on five continents. The Pontiac Division's version of the J started out being called the J2000 and the 2000, then got the Sunbird name originally used on the Pontiac-ized Chevy Monza starting in 1983. Here's a once-slick-looking 1989 Sunbird SE Coupe, found at a Minneapolis-area boneyard way back in 2016. The best-known of all the J-Body cars, here, was the Chevrolet Cavalier, but Pontiac far outdid even the most blinged-up Cavalier Z24 when it came to elaborate taillights. Because this is Minnesota, the car is a patchwork of various layers of junkyard-obtained rusty body parts. One fender has TURBO badges from a Sunbird GT. The other side has the correct engine badges for this model. That engine is a 2.0-liter, single-overhead-cam straight-four from an engine family originally developed for the Opel Kadett D. This one was rated at 96 horsepower when new. This one has the automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have been very much fun to drive. Check out that cool parking brake handle, though! And, hey, is that a full can of Colorado Cool-Aid in the foot well? You'd think a proper Minnesota Pontiac would at least be full of Grain Belt cans. It appears that Higley Ford in Windom, Minn., had this car on the lot at some point. Windom is closer to Sioux Falls than to Minneapolis. This final mileage total looks good for a car living in Tinworm Country. Pontiac built this generation of Sunbird from the 1988 through 1994 model years, though it was really just a facelift of the first-generation cars. Starting in 1995, the Pontiac J-Body became the Sunfire, and production continued until the J platform itself got the axe in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party. Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

GM recalling 70k Chevy Malibus, Pontiac G6s over steering issue

Sun, Feb 15 2015

A problem with the power steering system in the Chevy Malibu and Pontiac G6 has prompted General Motors and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall for an estimated 69,633 vehicles. The issue revolves around the electric power steering assist, which could suddenly fail and increase the risk of a crash, especially at low speeds where the power steering is most helpful. The recall affects 2006-2007 Chevy Malibu sedans and Malibu Maxx wagons (specifically those manufactured between April 1, 2006, and June 30, 2006), as well as the Pontiac G6 (which was offered as a sedan, coupe or convertible) from the same model years and manufactured from April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. Owners of the affected units can expect to hear from the manufacturer with instructions to bring in their vehicles to their local dealers to have the torque sensors in the power steering system replaced. RECALL Subject : Sudden Loss of Electric Power Steering , 1 INVESTIGATION(S) Report Receipt Date: FEB 04, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V064000 Component(s): STEERING Potential Number of Units Affected: 69,633 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx vehicles manufactured April 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006, and 2006-2007 Pontiac G6 vehicles manufactured April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving. CONSEQUENCE: If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque sensor assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14772. Note: This is an expansion of recall 14V-153 to cover additional vehicles built between April 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
