THIS IS A COOL LOOKING CAR AND ALL ORIGINAL READY FOR RESTORATION. THE SEATS ARE ALL THERE AND NOT RIPPED OR CRACKED SO THEY ARE ACTUALLY USABLE. THE CAR SEEMS TO BE 99% COMPLETE BUT IT WILL NEED SOME BRAKE WORK, THE TRUNK IS GONE AND SO IS THE FUEL TANK AS THE PREV OWNER TRASHED THE METAL TO START THE RESTORATION.
THE PARTS ARE ON EBAY AND PRETTY INEXPENSIVE. I HAVE THE AUCTION #S IF YOU NEED THEM. A LOT OF THE LOWER PANELS HAVE SOME RUST SO YOU PROBABLY WANT TO CONSIDER PATCHES OR BUY THE LOWER REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM THE PONTIAC CATOLOGUES. I JUST DID A 67 GTO CONVERT WHICH WAS A LOT WORSE THEN THIS. THE CAR HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL AND WONT BE A MONEY PIT TO THE RIGHT PERSON WITH THE KNOWLEDGE TO DO THE WORK. ALL GLASS IS THERE AND IN GOOD SHAPE. NO RUST AROUND FRONT OR REAR GLASS DASH IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH ORIG RADIO!!!!!! WOW THIS IS ONE TO BUY AND PUT AWAY ITS THAT ORIGINAL...................... UNDER THE HOOD ORIG 389 NUMBERS MATCHING AND ALL COMPLETE I TOOK THE AIR CLEANER OFF ITS IN THE BACK SEAT IT HAS THE ORIG GENERATOR WOW THATS RARE 4 BBL ORIG THE MOTOR RUNS WITH A BATTERY AND SOME START FLUID THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT CHEAP PROJECT FOR A DRIVER OR DO THE RIGHT THING AND RESTORE IT.
PONTIACS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND UNLESS ITS A 4 DR OR A BUTCHERED CAR WITH A 350 CHEVY SO HERE IS YOUR CHANCE
LOW STARTING PRICE CLEAN NEW JERSEY TITLE IM GONNA SELL IT GREAT WINTER PROJECT ASK QUESTIONS ITS SOLD AS IS

Junkyard Gem: 1989 Pontiac Sunbird SE Coupe
Sat, Jun 11 2022General Motors built the fantastically successful J-Body cars starting at the dawn of the 1980s and continuing well into our current century, on five continents. The Pontiac Division's version of the J started out being called the J2000 and the 2000, then got the Sunbird name originally used on the Pontiac-ized Chevy Monza starting in 1983. Here's a once-slick-looking 1989 Sunbird SE Coupe, found at a Minneapolis-area boneyard way back in 2016. The best-known of all the J-Body cars, here, was the Chevrolet Cavalier, but Pontiac far outdid even the most blinged-up Cavalier Z24 when it came to elaborate taillights. Because this is Minnesota, the car is a patchwork of various layers of junkyard-obtained rusty body parts. One fender has TURBO badges from a Sunbird GT. The other side has the correct engine badges for this model. That engine is a 2.0-liter, single-overhead-cam straight-four from an engine family originally developed for the Opel Kadett D. This one was rated at 96 horsepower when new. This one has the automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have been very much fun to drive. Check out that cool parking brake handle, though! And, hey, is that a full can of Colorado Cool-Aid in the foot well? You'd think a proper Minnesota Pontiac would at least be full of Grain Belt cans. It appears that Higley Ford in Windom, Minn., had this car on the lot at some point. Windom is closer to Sioux Falls than to Minneapolis. This final mileage total looks good for a car living in Tinworm Country. Pontiac built this generation of Sunbird from the 1988 through 1994 model years, though it was really just a facelift of the first-generation cars. Starting in 1995, the Pontiac J-Body became the Sunfire, and production continued until the J platform itself got the axe in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party. GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon
Tue, Aug 9 2016During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon
