*1990 Pontiac Bonneville Le 20k Original Miles/original Owner* on 2040-cars
Clifton, New Jersey, United States
I have for sale a very rare 1990 pontiac bonneville Le with only 20k original miles ! The car was bought brand new at the salerno duane gm dealership by her and only used to go on a couple of trips to florida and for around town locally. The car has only been taken out on sunny days and put back into a heated garage after that ! It has never even seen rain let alone snow ! As you will be able to tell from the pictures the car is still in brand new condition aside from the very few minor flaws that's veiwable in my pics. I truly beleive you will never see another like it in the country ! It comes with the bullet proof 3.8 liter tune port injected engine that was used in the buick lesabre's back then. The car easily gets 30 mpg on the highway because of it's light weight and incredible power ! This car drives like it is absolutely brand new !!! The steering is not even broken in yet and is as tight as can be. Picture's do not do it justice !! You have to see and drive this beauty to beleive it. These are the original miles of this rare classic and would be a great fit for someone's collection, or for someone looking for a pretty much brand new car with unheard of low miles ! There is only a couple of very minor scratches on the original paint, other than that it shines like new ! Keep in mind that i did not detail this car. It came out of the garage like this. The interior is spotless and beleive it or not, i can still smell the new car scent. It is as close to new as you will find for this year i garauntee it ! I have all 4 original key's, original owner's manual and even the original window sticker that will go with the car. It was fitted with the original brand new goodyear tires about 9 years ago and they are like they were when new !! No dry rott or anything. The radiator and water pump where changed at the pontiac dealership when the car was still under warranty. That is the only thing that is not original in this car besides a new battery !! It also came with 2,700 in upgrades as shown in the window sticker. This is a prime example of a car that has been kept in a heated garage all of it's life ! You will be able to drive this car anywhere in the country if you want ! I do have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to cancel auction at anytime upon local sell.. If anymore info is required please feel free to ask. A deposit of $500 through pay pal will be required within 48 hours of auction's end. Thanks and happy bidding... |

Even Ferrari swept up in latest Takata recall expansion
Fri, May 27 2016The scope of Takata's deadly airbag problems continues to widen. Eight manufacturers announced recalls Friday that affect more than 12 million vehicles, according to documents filed with federal regulators. The automakers include Honda, which is recalling 4.5 million units, Fiat Chrysler with 4.3 million, Toyota with 1.65 million, and Subaru, which is recalling almost 400,000. Some of these cars include the Saab 9-2x and Pontiac Vibe that Toyota and Subaru made for General Motors. Mazda will recall 730,000 vehicles and Nissan has 400,000 affected units. The smallest numbers were posted by Mitsubishi, with 38,000 Lancers manufactured from 2006 to 2007, and as a noteworthy high-end manufacturer, Ferrari is calling back 2,800 vehicles. These are all US-market cars. Beyond America, the Japanese Transport Ministry has announced seven million additional vehicles will be recalled, which means 19.6 million vehicles across the globe are affected by recalls announced. The defects have been traced to an insufficiently manufactured airbag inflator, which lacks a drying agent that would prevent the inflators from deteriorating over time. Thirteen deaths have been linked to the faulty airbags, which have become unstable and are prone to exploding and showering vehicle occupants with lethal amounts of metal shrapnel. A private equity firm, KKR & Co., has been named in a possible buyout of the struggling Takata. Destiny: General Motors should bring back Pontiac
Wed, Apr 26 2017Despite having officially left the market in 2010, the Pontiac badge is still a common sight on roadways throughout the United States. Towards the end of its life, Pontiac models were largely rebadged versions of other General Motors vehicles, like the Pontiac G5 and Chevrolet Cobalt. It's sad, but there's no other way to put it; Pontiac was a mere shadow of its former self at the time of its death. Now it's time to revive the legendary brand. General Motors announced it would be reviving the Redline series, a package that originated with Saturn, another dead brand, earlier this year. Some models, like the Chevrolet Camaro will receive unique cosmetic touches designed to make it look even sportier, something Pontiac excelled at in most cases. Gas prices have fallen dramatically in the past few years and consumers have taken notice. Sales of fuel efficient cars, like hybrids and compact sedans, aren't increasing at the same rate as larger, less efficient vehicles, like trucks and SUVs. Muscle cars, like the Ford Mustang, are seeing increasing sales as well. Perhaps it's time to revive Pontiac and restore the marque to its former glory: a brand that brought performance and style at an affordable price. There are currently few manufacturers that offer a true challenge to high-performance automakers like BMW. The German brand continues to see high sales year after year and performance has a lot to do with it. Brand recognition, namely through the BMW badge, plays a major role as well. Pontiac, arguably one of the most well-known brands to ever grace the industry, can match both factors with ease. Pontiac was once revered as a brand that revolutionized the muscle car segment in the 1970s and 1980s. It still has a lively following throughout enthusiast spheres and amongst drivers of all ages to this day. Reviving the brand with a small line of high-performance vehicles would certainly offer a challenge to dominating German brands. A small lineup of affordable vehicles bearing the Pontiac badge and designed for performance and style would certainly make waves in the current market. Reviving a few older nameplates, such as the GTO and Trans Am, would offer nostalgic appeal. Packing both models with a powerful entry-level engine, say the Camaro's turbocharged four-cylinder or V6 engine, would open up the market considerably.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
