I am selling my 1972 Satellite Roadrunner Clone.  First of all I'm sick I'm selling it, we are moving to Texas and I no way to park it inside.  Car is curious yellow with black interior.  Interior is in great shape, no rips or tears in the seats.  Seats are bucket seats.  Nice carpet, headliner, newer door panels.  Console shifter.  Glass is in good shape.  Has a am-fm cd player.  Speedometer, fuel gauge and amp gauge work.  After market temp and oil pressure gauge.  Windshield wipers work but stop where ever.  Has a 440 engine out of a 68 Chrysler 300.  So it is a factory forged crankshaft and 350 HP.  I put in a new oil pump, new timing chain and gears, Edelbrock Performer 2 intake, 750 cfm Edelbrock carburetor. Engine runs strong.  High tork starter.  Rebuilt steering gear box.  Stock exhaust manifolds.  New radiator.  2 1/2 " exhaust pipes with flow master mufflers.  This car can be heard coming and it sounds strong.  727 transmission with shift kit.  8 3/4 sure grip with 3:23 gears.  Front end has low miles since being rebuilt.  Excellent brakes all around has 10.5 power brakes.  Body is in good shape painted in 2008, there is a small crease in front of the left rear tire. Car has always been inside and covered up.  Has won a few awards.  The grill is the very rare 72 Roadrunner.  Cragar SS rims with 60 with tires on the back and 70 tires on the front all with good tread. If you have any questions please call me at 913-683-5968.  I will send pictures on request.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
