Up for bid is a 1966 Plymouth Satellite 2 door hardtop. It has a 440 and I had the tranny rebuilt in 2007 by Gordons Transmission in Oxford NY because the tranny was slipping when I bought the car. I have owned the car since 2006. The drivetrain was already in the car along with the wild paint. The car was originally silver and had a 318 2 barrel in it. That was what I found when i decoded it. It is a bucket seat console car. I just drove it on weekends in the summer for something fun to do but I have since then bought an old Camaro Z28 and i havn't touched the Plymouth in a while so I think it is time it went to a new home. I put new carpets in the car, along with a new exhaust, battery, starter, and tires. The tires are Cooper Cobras. The fronts are P225/70R15s and the rears are P275/60R15s. The car had the fuel cell in the trunk when I bought it. I bought a gas tank for the car that I never got around to installing that will go with the car. This car runs and drives good and would make anyone a fun car to cruise in. It is an older north eastern car so it has some body issues but is in very solid condition. I can see some bondo in the lower quarters and lower fenders. Doors, hood, decklid, floors, trunk pan, under carriage are solid. When I bought the car they had a hood scoop on it but didnt cut out a hole, there are holes where they attached it though. It always passed inspection and runs great. The car is being sold as is. All sales are final. Thanks for looking and good luck.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
