1965 65 Plymouth Belvedere Satellite v8 nice, runs & drives, lots of extra stuff

For all of you interested in the 413, Max Wedge & Ramcharger hype of early B bodies, here’s a great car for you!  A 1965 Plymouth Belvedere Satellite.  She is an original v8 car (small block) with automatic – console car.  I think that the car has it’s original 318, but I don’t know how to verify this on a 1965.  She sounds pretty good – good exhaust note through the dual exhaust and Flowmasters and the engine has no noises.  Very nice and straight car, and the big bonus here is that it has great brightwork and trim.  Take a good look at the pictures and you’ll see what I mean.  The grille is near perfect, the front bumper is beautiful.  The rear bumper is quite nice, too – and all the trim around the windows, doors, etc are complete and very useable.

Frame rails, etc are very nice, trunk floor, floor pans are in fairly good shape (could use a wire brush).  The car comes with new lower quarters and trunk drop-offs for both sides as well as front splash shields and a very nice set of extra front fenders, too.  You’ll find that the quarters will need to have these panels installed (included) if you intend to restore the car.  The only other rust I’ve noticed on the car is a small section of the rear trunk cross-piece (see pics) and some work will be needed in the right front wheel well.  The hood (as you can see) had the 2 scoops installed by the previous owner many, many years ago.  Also notice that the hood emblem was broken off (was hit in the garage).  The emblem and hardware still come with the car.

Included extra stuff:

New lower quarter panels for both sides, new trunk drop offs, new window seals/fuzzies, extra tail light, v8 emblem (was missing from one side), hood emblem and bracket hardware, new front brake lines, new SSBC front disc brake kit complete with master cylinder, calipers, lines, pads, etc! , 2 extra front fenders.

I’ve recently installed a new gas tank, tank pad, fuel sending unit, hoses and tank strap.  I also rebuilt the Edelbrock 4 barrell carburetor.

The interior is complete and stock with the exception of the steering wheel.  Very nice dash and gauges and you can see that the original seat material is still there with the Plymouth logo.  The driver’s seat is in serious need of reupholstering, the front passenger is getting there, too.  Headliner is still nice. She runs and drives in the driveway, but she really should have a once-over before being considered safe for the street.  She’s been sitting in a warehouse for many, many years.

Yes, it has a clear, MD title.  I reserve the right to end the auction if the car sells locally first.  I do own a car trailer and can deliver the car if we reach an agreement.  Local Baltimore delivery is free.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
