I have for sale a 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner. It was born with a 318 3 speed tranny, now has a 340 out of a 1968 Dodge Dart GT and a pistal grip 4 speed transmission. Everything works down to the cig. lighter. Engine is basically stock except for a slightly modified cam and a Holley Dominator intake. Runs good, I would drive it anywhere. Floor pans are solid, trunk pan is solid but will need drop offs on both sides. Trunk lid has rust as you can see in the pictures. Rust in the body is shown in the pictures, not really that bad. Its a pretty solid old car. Has good oil pressure, does not run hot, and even though it has a stock exhaust system it still has that Mopar rumble! I have the fender tag. Has new Cooper Cobra tires and also new shocks, water pump, clutch, and a complete tune up. Interior is decent except for the dash it is cracked in several places. I have an OPEN North Carolina title and also an Alabama tag receipt in my name. If the OPEN title is a problem for you then please do not bid, it is what it is. I require a $250. deposit in my PayPal account within 24 hours of the auction end and the balance within 72 hrs. Payment must be in the form of a bank cashier check or wired into my checking account with SunTrust bank. Any bidders with less that 10 positive feedbacks must contact me first via email with your phone number BEFORE placing bid. The roof of the car is popped in from things being stored on it in the garage. You can pop it out but it pops right back in. Also the am/fm radio works as does the BEEP BEEP horn. I will answer any and all questions ASAP. Reserve is very low. Car is being sold AS IS. I have the stock ralley wheels that I will sell to the buyer for an extra $200. Mileage may or may not be accurate. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID! Car can be left as long as needed as long as payment requirements have been met. |

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
