1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus / Roadrunner "tribute" With Free Parts Car! on 2040-cars
Jackson, Mississippi, United States
Up for sale here is my Black on Black, recently restored, 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus / Roadrunner Tribute. 360 V8 engine. Engine has been rebuilt and has very low mileage, no leaks, and runs great. It has a 4 barrel carb, aluminum intake with a mild cam, electronic ignition, and dual exhaust. The engine is strong and the automatic transmission works great, it shifts right and while driving it downshifts perfect as it should. The car was built with plenty of power, the best options, and it cruises well. It was built to be a driver, a cruiser, and weekend show car. This car came factory equipped with power steering and power brakes and it all works perfectly. It has front wheel disc brakes, with rear drums brakes, and will stop on a dime. It steers very easily and is NOT sloppy feeling. The car rides nicely, very comfortable, with no squeaks and rattles. Exterior - It has been repainted with a modern base coat / clear coat paint job in "Jet Black" with extra clear. The paint and body work was done right and it really shows. There are chrome accents all over. Black "Soft 8" NASCAR style wheels with new Firestone tires. It looks great as seen in the pictures. All the pictures and the video are recent and show the car in the condition it is to be sold in. It is always garaged. There are no dents or scratches to mention. Interior - The black interior has been gone through completely and taken back to original standards with a few modern updates. It has the deluxe bucket seat interior with the factory "buddy seat" which is an optional fold up/down seat OR armrest that is between the front bucket seats. It has the top of the line, factory deluxe, door panels with woodgrain accents. There's all new carpeting, headliner, and most other panels. The "Rally" dash has been gone through, no cracks, all gauges work. The heater works good. It has an aftermarket walnut Grant Steering wheel, hit the horn and you'll hear that signature "Beep Beep" of the roadrunner horn. The factory AM stereo has been replaced with a modern, Kenwood CD stereo system that is IPOD and Iphone compatible. 6x9" Kenwood speakers in back and 5&1/4" Kenwood speakers up front. It has custom made carpeted floor mats embroidered with the "Plymouth" logo on top of the brand new carpet. One thing I should mention is that this car came from the factory with AC. The AC system can be made operable in as little as one day with minimum cost because all the components in the dash are still in operable condition. The only missing parts are under the hood, such as the compressor and lines, are still readily available. This car has not been restored back to factory original colors but instead has had many upgrades and was originally optioned out as a top of the line Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, which came from the factory with quite a few more options that the typical stripped-down Roadrunner. The only thing this car didn't come with was the larger Roadrunner engine. That is why it has had the engine swapped from the original 318 V8 to the larger, strongly built, 360 V8. I decided to change the color of the car to make it a bit more visually striking and modern. It has ALL the Roadrunner accessories as well as almost all the best options available for the 1972 Plymouth lineup. This car is fun. It's a blast to cruise around in and is good to go as is. This is no project car. I have driven this car without any issues and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. These cars are doing nothing but going up in value. It is definitely an attention getter. It's hard to find a good looking black on black model such as this. This car has current Mississippi registration, inspection, and I have a title in hand. It's turn key and ready to drive. If you need pictures of anything specific, just let me know and I can send you those. There's nothing to hide here. Don't be afraid to make an offer, I won't be offended. I am not in a position where I have to sell the car but I have some other projects to do and freeing up some space will help me out so I am putting this car up, but I'm not going to give it away as I have a lot invested and it's a really good car. Check out the video and the pictures. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to give me a text, call, or email - 361-746-0585 Thanks for looking! Here is a link for a quick walk-around video of the car - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMbEWigIoms ***!FREE PARTS CAR! *** I would just like to add that I also have an additional car that I will be willing to give away FOR FREE if the listed car sells. So you will have the option to get 2 cars for the price of one. - The FREE car is a green on green 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring that is mostly complete (it has a 318 V8 with an automatic transmission) and is a great parts car but has no title and does not run. It has some rusty floors but good frame rails and body panels. The interior is complete as well.... I will throw this car in on the deal if the black car sells. It's always good to have spare parts. - You do not have to take the parts car if you buy the black car but I will give you that option for no additional cost. *** You can see the parts car sitting beside the black car in the last picture. |

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]
Mon, 16 Jun 2014
We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
