This car is a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II Convertible that is white body with black interior. The white paint does has some chips in it, but still looks good. The engine and trans work right, this car rides very smooth. Here is a list of items that I have done to the car:

  • Installed new glove box
  • New front parking lens
  • New battery
  • New plugs, cap, rotor, points & condenser
  • New gas filler hoses
  • New hood, trunk, an convertible top mouldings
  • New door and window handles
  • Replace gasket on trans, pan & engine oil pan with new seals installed  on both
  • New convertible top pump and hoes
  • New master cylinder
  • Radiator and starter rebuilt
  • New tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, inner & outer wheel bearings, upper & lower ball joints, & rear axle bearings
  • Drive shaft was rebalance and u-joints were replaced
  • New tires

The first owner replaced the floor pans and he installed a 4 barrel carburetor on the engine, but I have the 2 barrel and intake that he took off the engine. All gauges and lights work. The am radio is still in the dash and works, but I unplug the power and plug the hid-a -way radio into that, this is a am/af radio with a 10 disc player. The radio is installed under the rear seat with the disc player in the trunk and display installed under the dash. I also installed new speakers 2 set in the trunk area and one in each front kick panel. All the work is done on this car it is now time to drive and enjoy. I am the second owner of this car. They only made about 2200 of these convertibles. I also have the convertible top booth in the car, but it needs the snaps installed and I have a extra convertible top cover.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
