1937 Plymouth, 2 Door Sedan,... Hotrod, Rat Rod, Scta, Street Rod, Hot Rod on 2040-cars
North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
up for sale, is my old sweetheart...a trusty stead that i have driven for the last 14 years........when she came into my possession she was a bone stock , BLACK & TAN 1937 plymouth 2 door sedan,...drove her that way for some time till the engine blew....( she probably had 40 horse power and it turned out that trying to keep up with modern speeds was a little too much for her little ponies.....so...what to do ?...well this is what i decided ...i was going to do a TOTAL REBUILD FRAME OFF RESTORATION....but then common sense kicked in and in looking at the car that was in GORGEOUS "ORIGINAL CONDITION" I decided i would do something different ...i would replace the ENTIRE DRIVELINE with more modern components and leave EVERYTHING ELSE "STOCK ORIGINAL".... #### * * * AS THEY ARE "ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE" * * * ### this made the greatest sense to me ....so here's what i did ...first, i installed a 1975 chrysler cordoba rear , i then installed a brand new 350 chevy engine with a pete jackson gear drive and crane roller rockers, also installed allen grove component brackets to facilitate the installation of alternator and A/C compressor ((im not a big fan of aftermarket components so those two brackets and brake caliper brackets, the shifter handle and mechanism are really the only aftermarket components, of corse the airbox for the A/C under the dash is aftermarket too))...EVERYTHING ELSE is manufactured by the big three..including but not limited to.....master cylinder, booster and brake pedal,...they are 1961 cadillac, the carb is a factory rochester 4 barrel (( the most reliable carbs ever built (in my opinion) i run them in everything and they are easy for me to rebuild )).the passing gear kick down cable & carb brackets along with gas pedal and cable are all factory 87 buick that work and fit PERFECTLY! no modification was needed to install anything related to those components...the brake disk & bearings and caliper setup is 1975 chevelle bolted to plydo manufacturing caliper brackets, also installed was a brand new turbo 350 auto trans( it was brand new years ago of corse, but still function perfectly as the day they were installed ) the rear wheels are 54 ford, the front wheels are 55 chevy with new wide whites (they use the same hubcap size! ) @@@ COOLING SYSTEM @@@ as this car is in the southern nevada it really needed "modification" to the cooling system to handle the extreme heat ...this is what i came up with ...the preheater in the intake manifold under the carburetor was blocked off (it's not needed in the desert heat) i then installed approx,100 ft of 1/2 inch copper tubing under the passenger running board of the car plumbed into the heater and water outlets of the engine (thus a huge coolent capacity was created) i can drive this car in stop n go traffic all day long with the A/C on full, in 120 degree heat in the lasvegas valley and NEVER overheat.....and believe me it gets ICE COLD ...( i sometimes MUST put it on low as it gets TOO cold....) ...one issue you may find unsettling is the car still has a straight axel in it and it DOES suffer from "bumpsteer" it's a bit surprising if you aren't fimilier with the cars handling and in my opinion has way too much understeer.... quite frankly if i were to keep it i would go for a new I.F.S. kit for it ...they run about $1,800.00 but i was always comfortable with how it handled and never saw the need ...(i dont have a lead foot) ..also 1937 was the last year for the opening windshield, the interior is THE ORIGINAL MOHAIR,... NEVER REPLACED !... i have had many debates on weather to replace it or not and i just thought it would be terrible for it to be replaced with some synthetic plastic crap,.. the only thing new on the inside is the floor material ..also the original knobs for the dash are in the glovebox (to replace the chrome skulls that were installed many years ago) the headliner is a bit beat up and someone along the way cut a hole to get access the the wiper motor on the passenger side ( long before i owned it ) there is a small amount of rust in the rear pan (pictured) but again to little to pay it much attention ...and besides ..to me ....it just adds to the overall character of the car .....( some can't appreciate that aspect of cars... but to me, it is part of it's soul.......)ATTENTION ,...ATTENTION,...ATTENTION,...PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CLOSELY .... if you have less than 10 feedbacks please make contact with me prior to bidding so as to imply that you WILL in fact pay if you win,.... listing vehicles on ebay ..is not cheap and this is not a game ..i might be interested in a trade plus cash,.. NO motorcycles, NO four doors , nothing manufactured after 1961 and MUST run AND drive !......... IMMEDIATELY after the auction a "NON REFUNDABLE" $ 200.00 deposit MUST be paid thru paypal and the balance paid within *7* SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS ......i DO accept personal checks, BUT from the following banks ONLY ,,,,,Wells Fargo ,,, Bank of America ,,,and Chase ,,, (personal checks MUST include fee to cash the check ,...usually $7 dollars ) *****overseas bidders ***** ALL funds must clear before ANY shipping of vehicle will occur ***** .... LASTLY,.... the title is clear and in my name ....and PLEAS ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
