1950 Plymouth Custome 2 Door Convertible Rat Rod Lowered Gasser Cruiser Classic on 2040-cars
Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States
You are bidding on a custom and I mean ridiculously custom 1950 Plymouth P15 body style converted into a convertible. It started life as a 2 door coupe and was cut, chopped, shaved into this awesome one of a kind ride. The top has been completely cut off and welded up to be smoothed out. It has a custom built and molded into body cover for the rear seats that are no longer there. The top has been chopped and shaved, and so have the doors. This is a one of a kind vehicle for sure. I bought it to build a gasser, however you can not run a convertible body in the gasser class in my area. The car is right hand drive. The steering wheel, gas pedal and brakes are on the right side. The passenger side. It has a 216 straight six engine with a 350 turbo transmission. It cranks with starting fluid and will remain running. However, It does need a carb badly. It will run but will hardly move under its own power due to the carb. It is a single barrel carb. I HAVE A CLEAR TITLE. All the headlights and blinkers work. They were all wired into toggle switches which I was getting ready to change over to actual switches. The doors have poppers installed but they do not operate yet. I will include a set of bear claw latches, a new throttle cable and billet gas pedal. The cable is stretched to far to be on the passenger side. I purchased a new longer cable and pedal assembly. It has a Camaro 10 bolt rear and power brakes. The front still has Plymouth lug pattern. The body needs about 20 hours of sanding, blocking, and filling to get ready for paint. That was the estimate I was given. This car is a diamond in the rough but it will be one of the nicest cars out there. Definitely one of a kind being a right hand drive. The car has 2 seats which will need recovering. It has carpet and no door panels. The windshield is made of lexan in which I was going to have glass cut at $120 being straight glass and replace them. It has a custom Bimini top which snaps to the body. It does not have a hard or soft top to use while driving. Simply a roadster. I'm sure there is more to talk about but if you have any questions let me know. Thanks. No Reserve! Will also entertain trades.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
