HELLO YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VERY RARE 1968 GTX. THE BODY AND PAINT ON THIS CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT WAS JUST PAINTED LAST YEAR, AND IT WAS KEPT THE ORIGINAL COLOR MEDIUM GOLD, COST OF $6,000. THE PAINT IS STRIAGHT AND SHINES GREAT, NEARLY FLAWLESS! IT WAS HARDLY DRIVEN AFTER IT WAS PAINTED. THE INTERIOR SPORTS IT ORIGINAL LOOK. THE DRIVER SEAT COVER IS STARTING TO COME APART BUT THE REST OF THE SEATS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE CARPET IS STARTING TO SHOW SOME AGE BUT DOESNT LOOK BAD. THE REST OF THE INTERIOR IS IN GREAT CONDITION. JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING WORKS IN THE CAR SUCH AS: WIPERS AND WASHERS, CIG LIGHTER, DOME LIGHTS, FACTORY RADIO, POWER WINDOWS. THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS MOSTLY ALL NEW LINES, THE COMPRESSOR DOES GO ON, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE CHARGED. ALL LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS. HEATER WORKS. I THINK THE ONLY THING THAT DOESNT WORK IS THE HORN, BUT ALL THE COMPONANTS ARE STILL THERE. I DO HAVE THE BUILD SHEET AND THE GALEN BROADCAST SHEET AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES. THE CAR PRETTY MUCH LOOKS THE SAME AS WHEN IT CAME OUT OF THE FACTORY BESIDES THE WHEELS; WHICH ARE REALLY NICE 5 STAR DRAG LIGHT WELL WHEELS. IM NOT SURE IF THE CAR CAME WITH THE VINYL TOP BUT IT SURE DOES LOOK NICE. IT ALSO HAS THE FACTORY TAC IN THE DASH WITH A 150 SPEEDO. I THINK THE TAC WAS ADDED, BECAUSE IT CAME WITH A CLOCK. I HAVE BEEN AROUND THESE OLD CARS FOR A LONG TIME, AND I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE OF THESE WITH THIS KIND OF EQUIPPMENT. THE CAR ALSO HAS THE FACTORY HEAD REST AND DEEP TINTED GLASS. THIS IS A VERY RARE HIGHLY OPTIONED CAR. ALL THE CHROME IS IN NICE DRIVER QUALITY SHAPE. THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR STILL HAS ITS FACTORY UNDERCOATING, VERY CLEAN UNDERNEATH. I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS A COMPLETE NUMBERS MATCHING CAR, BUT I KNOW THE MOTOR IS THE CORRECT YEAR BY THE NUMBERS ON THE TOP PAD OF THE MOTOR. I DO HAVE ALL THE FACTORY AIR CLEANER EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND VALVE COVERS, AS YOU CAN SEE IN PICS. THE TRANS WAS REDONE BEFORE I GOT IT WITH A STALL CONVERTER AND SHIFT KIT. IT IS A 727. US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
