I HAVE A 1967 PLYMOUTH GTX MOSTLY COMPLETE BUT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY RESTORED. THIS CAR IS A TRUE 1967 PLYMOUTH GTX RS23L CODE CAR. THIS IS WHAT I CAN TELL YOU FROM INSPECTING THE CAR MYSELF. THE CAR HAS A NON MATCHING NUMBERS 440 STEEL CRANK ENGINE IN THE CAR BUT DOES HAVE THE CORRECT 67 HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND ORIGINAL DUEL SNORKLE AIR CLEANER 402 OIL PAN 1968 906 HEADS 186 INTAKE CORRECT CARTER CARB. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE HEAVY DUTY 727 AND THE 8 3/4 REAREND HAS A SUREGRIP POSI UNIT IN IT. THE CAR HAS THE CORRECT MULTILEAF SPRINGS,BIG FRONT SWAY BAR AND BIG 11 INCH DRUM BRAKES ALL AWAY AROUND. THE CAR HAS THE 150 M.P.H. SPEEDOMETER CONSOLE WITH BUCKET SEATS, DRIVER SEAT MISSING. THE CAR'S BODY DRIVERS FENDER,DOOR AND QUARTER PANEL ARE IN GOOD USEABLE SHAPE. THE PASSENGER SIDE FENDER IS GOOD SHAPE EXCEPT WHERE THE FENDER BOLTS TO THE BODY AT THE VERY BOTTOM,PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NEED REPLACING AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER QUARTER PANEL. THE DECK LID HAS RUST AROUND THE HINGE AND WOULD NEED REPLACING,THE THRUNK FLOOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE PLUS AROUND THE WHEEL WELL BOX'S. THE TRUNK PAN ON THE RIGHT SIDE HAS A RUST SPOT BUT CAN BE FIXED WITHOUT REPLACING THE FLOOR. THE HOOD WITH THE TWIN SCOOPS ARE GONE AND HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A SATELLITE HOOD. THE GRILLE AND HEADLIGHT DOORS ARE CORRECT. THE FLOOR PANS ARE COMPLETELY SHOT AND THE FRAME RAILS FROM THE TRANSMISSION CROSSMEMBER TO THE TOE PAN WHERE THE FLOOR MEETS THE FIREWALL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED,THE FIREWALL AND INNER FENDER ARE GOOD. THE FRAME RAILS WHERE THE SPRINGS MOUNT IN THE REAR ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. THE CAR HAS RUST ON THE TOP DRIVERS SIDE DRIP RAIL WHERE THE VINYL TOP WAS. THIS CAR CAME BURGUNDY WITH A WHITE VINYL TOP WITH RED DASH HEADLINER AND CARPET WITH WHITE SEATS AND DOOR PANELS. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR YEARS AND WAS LAST INSPECTED IN 1977-78. THIS CAR HAS A CLEAN TITLE AND READY TO BE RESTORED. THESE CARS RESTORED ARE BRINGING IN THE MID THIRTYS SO DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY. 'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
