***Convertible***

This is a Mopar Collectors Dream come true.  Totally bone stock 383 Commando.

You have the opportunity to own a very rare 1968 Plymouth Fury III Convertible!

I say rare for this reason, there were only 4,483 of these produced in 1968.  As it were there was a limited run from the beginning, however this particular vehicle is more rare as this is a true one owner vehicle, it is completely original, it has the 383 Commando NOT the 318, and it is a factory AC car!  it's NEVER been repainted, nor has the interior ever been redone!  The question I ask you should be evident: how many,1968 Plymouth Fury III Convertibles are one owners and completely original, are there left today?  The answer, not many!  Sure, you can find them, they've had 5 owners, been repainted a time or two, have bondo, and have different motors and transmissions in them.  With that, you have the opportunity to own a one of kind Fury.

Mechanics

The original 383 Commando runs excellent and has 101,000 actual miles on it!  Turn the key, and it starts right up.  The original transmission shifts great.  It needs brakes.  The tires have great tread, however they are old tires.

Turn signals, brake lights, high beams, low beams, interior lights, AM/FM radio, heater, horn, guages and even the power top all work excellent!  This is an original AC car.  The AC does not work.

Intetior

It's all original! It's never been redone.  There are NO cracks in the dash.  The door panels are original and in excellent condition.  The horn ring is original and in excellent condition.  No cracks in any of the glass.  The leather interior as well as the interior plastics are not dried out, but rather well kept and comfortable!  There is a tear in the drivers side seat.  The convertibe top is original and in great condition as well.  I have the original convertible top boot; it snaps down nicely!

      Body

All original body.  No bondo.  Original paint.  Trunk, hood, doors all open and close perfectly.  No sagging of the doors. Has small amount of rust on rear quarter panels.  The trunk is solid.  THERE ARE NO DENTS OR CREASES ANYWHERE ON THE BODY! You will not find a straighter original body!

Please ask any and all questions.  Please do not bid unless you have the ability to pay.  Thanks for your time!

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
