This is my '67 Plymouth Sport Fury. I picked it up in 2000 and have had it garage kept since. From the flame job, to the shaved handles, she is a head turner. The up-sized 16" rims, high profile tires and baby moons give her a stance unlike what you would expect for a C-body. Closer to a B-body, but with more beef.
She is not numbers matching. The Motor is a machine shop refurb from a '71 Cuda. Its bore .5 over with an RV cam. It has electronic ignition and a Holley Projection 4D throttle body fuel injection rated a 640 cfm. The original Torqeflight 727 Tranny has been replaced with an overdrive successor model from a 98 Durango. Finally she has front disk breaks from another C-body mopar, a 1973 Dodge Monaco.
I intended this car to be a daily driver, but never quite got her all the way there. There are plenty of areas that would benefit from TLC, but mechanically she is fit, her body is straight and all metal. The only thing holding her back from being a reliable driver is the wiring harness. It is rolling, running, and ready to drive away, but be prepared to put some work into her before planning any extended joy rides.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]
Mon, 16 Jun 2014
We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
