'70 Fury Gran Coupe. Car sold new in Missouri and spent most of its life down south. Very solid rarely seen model that came from the factory with a big block. Interior is in exceptional shape. There are two small rips in the drivers seat and the drivers arm rest is bad (can buy new ones for $70 a pair). NO cracks in dash pad .Carpet and rear seat look like new. Headliner and door panels are very good(no rips or stains). The passenger arm rest and front seat head rest will need to be redyed as the color is worn off on the ends. There is an aftermarket CD player in dash, but the dash and wiring were not cut in any way. Stock radio comes with and will bolt right back in. Overall very nice for an all original interior. Body is VERY solid. This car was factory undercoated and has NO holes in the floors, truck or quarter panel exstentions. There is a small hole in the drivers side quarter panel up high about the size of your pinky finger. The bottoms of both front fenders have some small bubbling . The quarters and doors have no patches or rust in them. All the panels are original except the drivers door which the previous owner told me was replaced in the early 80's due to a run in with the garage door frame. This is also why I don't have the side trim for the fender and door. I have the rear and it is in good shape. I put the tape stripe on that side to keep water out of the trim holes. The car has creases on the bottoms of both fenders and front of both doors from someone trying to load it on a too small trailer (NOT ME).The rear valence is dented down low. The rest of the body is strait. There are spots on the body that have been touched up with a  brush. The car is presentable but will need the previously  mentioned areas repaired and new paint to be show quality. All the weather stripping is in very good condition. All the glass is great with the exception of a small bulls eye on the left corner of the windshield. This car drives awesome! Very tight rattle free ride. The power disk brakes are fantastic. I have driven three thousand comfortable miles in this car with NO problems. The engine runs very nice, the trans shifts perfect and the rear end is quite. The engine has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, electronic ignition, belts, hoses, water pump, fuel pump, filters and 3 row radiator. The trans received a filter and flush and the rear diff fluid was changed. The fuel tank was pulled, cleaned and sealed and a new sending unit and fuel hoses installed. All four shocks and both u-joints were replaced The front rotors were resurfaced and new calipers, pads and hoses installed. The rear drums were turned and received new wheel cylinders. When I got this car, the rear drums still had the factory clips holding them on. The rear shoes are the originals that it left the factory with and have about 50% life on them. This car was not driven hard. The master cylinder is new and the power unit was rebuilt. The wheels and tires are also new, and it does come with the stock wheels and hubcaps. The car was originally a two barrel but now has a four barrel edelbrock on a factory iron intake. The electric choke does not work but it still starts right up. I have driven it this way all summer, but it will need replaced if you want it to work correctly. The A/C hoses and condenser were gone when I got the car. The compressor is there and the rest of the heater system works fine. It will need hoses and condenser to operate. The only fluid leak is a small leak of the top of the steering box .It's not gushing, just seeping. All lights and electrical items work as they should. I was told the millage on the car is original. I have no paper work to confirm it, but judging by the condition and what I found when working on the car, I believe it to be true. Any questions or concerns, just ask! I have described this as thuroughly as possible but may have missed something you need to know. These cars are hard to find in this condition. When you consider that you can own this for under six grand it could possibly be the best deal on here. You can come drive it or have it inspected if you wish. I will work with shipping but not cover any costs. Cash or certified check for payment. Will hold car and title to funds have cleared.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
