Up for auction is this 1964 Plymouth Fury 2 Door Hard Top. It belongs to a good friend of mine who asked me to list it for him. I will give you as accurate a description as how I see the car and what was told to me. From what I was told the car had been in 30+ years storage. It has been in the family since new. He was told it was orginally a 383 4 Speed car from the factory. Has Power Steering and Power Brakes but brakes are down from sitting. As you can see the elements have taken a toll on the body so it is in need of a complete restoration. I believe the engine is a 1969 383 HP. Not sure if the transmission is original 1964 or if it came with the engine. It has an 8 3/4 Posi Traction Sure Grip he believes is 3:55 gear ratio. He got the car running and boy does it run strong!!! No ticks, no smoke, just powerful! Barely a turn of the key and she is running. Removed the valve covers and it is super clean inside. Transmission shifts in all the gears excellent. No rear end noises either. The car itself could be restored but will need inner and outer rear quarters, front fender bottoms and rocker panel repair. Also front floors have holes along with some holes on the underside of the hood and trunk lid. Interior is rough but all intact. Back floors, trunk pan are solid. We have the factory build sheet and the title back to 1967 and some old registrations. Could be turned into a neat sleeper street rod.If you have under 10 feed back please contact us prior to bidding. IF YOU NEED MORE PICS OR INFO FEEL FREE TO CALL OR EMAIL US AT 207-324-5568 DAYS OR 207-432-2862 EVES AND SUNDAYS

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
