1975 Plymouth Duster

I am selling a 75 Duster that I just bought off of EBAY last week.  The seller was completely not-forthcoming and I'm left holding the bag.  That said, this car would make a hell of a 340 swap, or 6-cyl restore - I just cant do the work.

THE GOOD:

The car runs and drives.  The 6cyl looks awful clean and starts right up.   Tranny shifts in gear fine.   65K miles.

The tires are decent

The rims are in good shape - although in need of cleanup

The body seems to be straight and has NO holes or dents.

Doesn't look like there is any bondo/fill in the panels.

The lights, the grille, and bumpers are all in good condition

The interior seats - though dirty and a bit faded - are not ripped

The front and rear glass both are good

The bad (and for the most part NOT DISCLOSED) :

The interior is VERY rough.  The carpet needs replaced, the dash top is crap, the console needs refinished/replaced, the rear shelf needs refinished and new speaker covers, the headliner is crap, and EVERYTHING needs cleaned.

The exterior paint is AWFUL.  It is faded and chipped all over.  There is no rust to speak of, but it looks worse than pics show.

The exhaust fell off ON THE TRAILER and needs replaced

The wipers are useless

This car is being sold as-is with no warranty given.  The car will need to be transported at buyer expense as it really needs a workover before driving full time.  A $250 deposit needs paid within 24 hours and final payment due within 7 days.   This car is a good starter for a restore at a good starting price.  I have mentioned all I can find good and bad with the car, but if there is something specific you need listed - please email me.  Thanks, and god bless.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
