1970 Plymouth Duster 340/4 speed numbers matching original TX9 Black with TX9 stripes.I bought this car a few months back thinking it would be my next and last restoration project. What I liked about the car is that is was a mostly unmolested original car still wearing it's original rare black paint.Needing restoration of course, but it almost all there.Well a business deal has come up so I'm thinking the car should go.I'll be listing the car only this one time.Enough of that, back to the car.As stated earlier it is an original numbers matching 340 4 speed.Factory rallye dash with tach.TX9 black interior with bench seat and center fold down arm rest.Car is mostly disassebled with parts being bagged and tagged.Motor is still together with the exception of the carb being removed(original/correct number) and the exhaust manifolds(missing, must have had headers at one time)and the front timing chain cover and water pump removed.Transmission is complete but dissassembled.Gears and internals look like new and only needs to be reaseembled. 3:23 rear differental still showing orignal assembly line markings. This is a tell tail sign of how clean the bottom of this car is.Original factory undercoated car also.Factory power steering along with manual front disc brakes.Original fender tag and partial build sheet.I removed the vin tag from the steel frame dash to have the frame painted. It will need the spare tire well replaced all well as some 1/4 panel work. The rest of the trunk floor and extenions look fine. The main floor board, frame rails and inner fenders are near perfect. The front fenders have some rust the lower dog legs.Comes with the original trunk lid along with a replacement as shown in the pictures.Someone tried breaking into the trunk years ago and bent up the original along with the tailpanel.I could go on and on.Take a look at the pictures and email me with any questions.I have a lot of NOS parts available to the winning bidder if interested but not included in this auction.NOS shocks, compete NOS front end ball joint, idler, pitman, grille, headlight bezels,NOS roof rail and door weatherstrips, etc, etc.Winning bidder must make 500.00 Paypal deposit within 48 hours of end of auction, and full payment within 30 days.I can stored the car for 30-60 days if needed.Good luck

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
