I'm selling my 1973 Plymouth Barracuda. It packs a 426 Hemi engine, mated to a 727 down to  freshly rebuilt posi rear with 3.55 gears. This car was rotisserie restored to show winning condition. The paint is a B5 blue, that is absolutely gorgeous and flawless. The finish on the paint anywhere on this car is sure to impress. There are no flaws in the paint. All trim and bumpers are in perfect condition adding to the show quality luster. The elephant 426 Hemi is fed by dual edelbrock carbs, and correctly synchronized to give you the full experience of twin 4 bbl carbs. The car runs amazing with no issues. The engine is very strong and sounds just as good. The 727 is like new, and has a shift kit. The slap stick works flawless and is sure to bang gears. The freshly rebuilt 8 3/4 center section is mated with 3.55 gears, which I find to be the perfect balance for this car in performance and highway cruising. It has Yukon axles as well, and an aluminum driveshaft. Once restored, the car also received frame connectors to keep the body and chassis straight. It has ceramic coated 2" headers flowing to tti exhaust with flowmasters. The car sounds super tough, and one of my favorite out of my collection. All suspension is tight and the car drives straight as and arrow and beautifully. All of the interior is in new condition still, and magnificent. There is not one part of the car that was left behind in the resto. The bottom side of the car is as nice as the top. The inside of the truck is also flawless. Everything mechanically works perfect, along with all electrical. I'm selling the car to downsize my collection, as this car was the last one I added, it must be the first I have to regrettably part with. Unfortunately I have put on very few miles on this car.  All the work is done, all that's left is to enjoy this beautiful piece of mopar history. Will be willing to personally deliver the car up to 400 miles. Any questions about the car, feel free to call. 262-343-0378. I can get a video of the car running and walk around if interested. Also have professionally appraised documents on the car when the rest of my collection was done recently, and selling below the appraisal price. Bid with confidence on this drop dead gorgeous HEMI Cuda! Good luck.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
