The odometer
shows 36k miles which I can not guaranty, but I believe to be true for the
following reasons: All glass is
original and in excellent condition including the windshield. The interior
is all original and in amazing condition including the dash pad which has no
cracks, interior panels are really nice, not scratched up or chalky, seat belts
show very minimal wear or fading. The original carpet is not worn out. The original
owner did cut out a small section of carpet under the drivers floor matt and
made a secret hiding place for something like keys or emergency money. I got
the car with a vintage aftermarket radio installed. I pulled it out and
installed a correct AM radio that I had. The radio does not work. Both radios
are included. The knob for the rear speaker switch is missing. The car was
bought new in CA and lived there it’s whole life. The car was never rusty and
has had a repaint. The body is straight and all panels appear to be original. The
drivers lower quarter has some filler due to a minor incident. The shaker hood
is original. The paint looks very presentable. No dents or scratches. There are
some imperfections in the paint that are visible under Florissant lights when
looking closely. The car gets many compliments from anyone that sees it. The car is
an unmolested, highly optioned car that was loved and cared for it’s entire
life. The door
jams and engine compartment are still in original paint. All body numbers
match: Dash tag, fender tag, door sticker, cowl and rad support. The VIN pads
on both the engine and trans are blank. This could mean two things. The factory
never stamped them or they were both replaced under warranty. I would lean
towards the never been stamped theory. Galen Govier the authority on MOPARS has
documented this fact on other cars. The bottom
of the car is very clean and original. Look at the pic of the floor pan and
notice the original primer and no pitting. Engine
starts right up and runs smoothly, the trans shifts nicely and show no signs of
any issues. Exhaust is stock and most likely the original system. The car
sounds quiet. The original
radiator has a leak was replaced with a new one. The original radiator is included
with the car. The tanks can be removed from the original and installed on the
new one. The trunk
floor is solid with no rust. It was painted black for protection by the
original owner. Recap: A car like
this does not come along very often. This car came from the factory as you see
it with EV2 high impact paint, Shaker Hood, Billboard Stripes, Rear spoiler,
painted mirrors and color keyed grill. Original
buildsheet for documentation Same owner
for 42 years Long chain
of registrations over the years Rust free CA

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
