This rust free southern car has had the same owner for the last 32 years and has recently undergone a full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration with the intention of never being sold so no expense was spared. This V Code Cuda with the 440 Six Pack has all original sheet metal and hood, the floor and trunk pans are original as well. This car was completely disassembled and then reassembled with attention to detail which is evident throughout. The date code correct 440 Six Pack with the 906 heads and aluminum intake was completely rebuilt as was the 727 automatic transmission and the 8 3/4 rear end with 3.55 posi.
When you open the door and look at the flawless interior, you would never guess that only the carpet and seat covers have been redone with the gauges, door panels, headliner and rear window defrost being original to the car. This, along with the original sheet metal, attest to the excellent condition of the Cuda before the concours level restoration began. When you are walking around the car, you see the mirror like image of yourself in the flawlessly applied FE5 Rally Red Paint. Quickly you notice the perfect alignment of the hood, doors and trunk then you realize that the fit and finish is so much better than when it rolled off of Plymouth’s assembly line 43 years ago. Anticipation is building as you pull the hood pins on the original shaker hood. As you raise the hood, you see what you would expect from this concours restoration, a highly detailed engine compartment with all the proper paint colors housing the freshly rebuilt 440 with the fully functional shaker air intake. When you see this Cuda, one word comes to mind….WOW. When you drive it two words come to mind….Perfection and Awesome. There is less than 4,000 trouble free miles since the restoration.
The 1970 Cuda with the 440 Six Pack is considered by many as one of the most sought after of all the Cudas, especially the V-Code, 440 Six Pack. Definitely a very desirable collector muscle car.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
