1969 Plymouth Barracuda notchback coupe in pretty good condition in and out. I'm the 2nd owner, Original owner was from Charlotte NC. Car has a clear NC Title in my name. Rebuilt Engine has 19k on it, Rebuilt Trans has 13k on it and the original Body has 119k on it. This car has only been rained on about 20 times since I've had it for 13yrs, and was garage kept by the original owner since 1969...

This car is running great and you can drive it home, I drove it to Nashville last year, 550mi each way, 10hrs each way, with no problems and I got 24mpg at 80mph on Interstate 40.

Oakboro NC is located about 30mi east of Charlotte NC

This is not by any means a show car but its very presentable in and out and its in a cool survivor condition and turns alot of heads...

These little Notchbacks are kinda hard to find for sale so you better jump on this one, especially in this condition.

I have bought and sold over 220 items on Ebay thru my late Fathers acct. ref  "race700_0" and over 60 items on Ebay thru my acct "rjz0_0" with 100% positive feedback rating, feel free to check it.... My Father an AF Major passed away 2yrs ago in July.. I decided last year to stop using the Majors acct anymore and started using my old acct "rjz0_0" again.... I have also bought and sold over 500 items on Craigslist in NC, mostly Musical instruments, Guitars and Amps ect. ect.... That's why I am very honest about the items that I sell, so Bid with confidence... Thanks, Mark...

Bid with confidence - If the Reserves Not Met, I may send Second Chance Offer to the highest Bidder, and/or I may lower the Reserve Price during the Auction...

Tmi warning - I'm very honest about my car.

Non-Smoker, car has never been smoked in.

I have all the Receipts to Prove all the mechanical and maintenance I've done to this car since I bought it, the Motor Rebuild, The Transmissions Rebuild ect ect,,, This Folder goes with the Car to the winning buyer....

Motor and Head - were Professionally Rebuilt by Poteat Engines in Kannapolis NC and has less then 20k on it since being rebuilt 8yrs ago, 225ci slant 6 cylinder engine was bored .030 over, with a very mild New Cam and new high volume oil pump. Motor runs like a champ with no knocks whatsoever on rods or mains... Recently Rebuilt the 1920 Holly 1 barrel Carburator and runs like a champ. Just installed Pertronix Electronic Ignition and it kicks ass. Rear Engine seal does have the usual drip. Car runs cool and has never been overheated... Holds really good Oil Prssure... BUT - forget about all that cause you'll probably want to put a built small block V8 in it anyhow, so forget about the 6 banger...

Transmission - The 904 Transmission was professionally rebuilt with new Torque Converter by All Star Transmission in Monroe NC and only has 13k on it, works perfect as it should....

Has a good 7 1/4" Rear End with no issues...

This would make a great Power Tour Car!!!.. Good on gas and won't overheat!!

This Car was my everyday driver for the last 2yrs. I drove this car on a 10hr ride each way from Charlotte NC to Nashville Tenn 2yrs ago and it got 24mi per gallon at 80mph on I-40 and the motor ran good and cool with no issues... I've had this car tagged and drove it since 2006. A very very dependable car, I go on long trips all the time several hour drive away and never been let down or had a problem.

Parts - I put a new gas tank, new wheel bearings, new brakes, new shocks, and new exhaust system were all done during rebuild 7yrs ago. Manuel Steering box is tight. Manuel 9" drum brakes work fine. This is a Radio Delete car from the factory, it has a factory face plate plug covering the radio hole in the dash that's never been taken out and also no Antenna hole in the right front fender from the factory... Has Dealer add on A/C goes with this car. The Trim Plate under the hood with Trim Plate Codes on it is missing but doesn't matter, it was only a 6 cylinder car anyhow..

Interior - looks really really good, has new custom molded carpet only 3 months old, new wiper seals installed too, I just put new slip covers on the original high back front bucket seats but they really need recovering, all 4 door panels are original and in great cond with no cuts or tears, back seat is original with no tears in great condition, headliner is original with no tears in great condition, the visors are good with no tears, the plastic dash has no breaks or cracks and is one of the best original dashes I've ever seen in any A-body Barracuda with the most amount of chrome left on the plastic ribs and the most amount of matt silver and matt black left on the original dash facing, it doesn't have that worn look with the yellow molded plastic showing thru like most of these dashes look like,,, dash pad and dash are very good,,, glove box is good... All gauges work great and I have an "Economy Gauge" that fits in the small center gauge hole that goes with this car.. The original back under glass deck board is good too,, armrest are good too... Wiper is a 2 speed and works fine...

Body - original color is Orange, not the Red it has now, this car was repainted Red in 1974-5 or so.. The big rear trunk molding is mint, worth an easy $500, the floor pans are mint and only had the slightest minimal surface rust in a few small places when I put the new carpet in a few months ago, I have pics.. Some rust in the trunk but nothing major and needs a small patch or two there... Some very small lower quarter rust both sides and needs a few very small patches there... Dent in passenger rocker panel.. Driver side outer grill bezel has some damage in corner around the headlight, the actual grills are very good with no breaks, just the one bezel.... Some rusty bubbles under the original vinyl top around the back window just like all the vinyl top cars get but nothing serious.... Original Vinyl top has a few small cracks that I filled with white silicone and has not gotten any worse since I got the car 13yrs ago... Some small rusty spots below front window... Overall the paint job is presentable with minor nicks, scratches and paint chips thru out and a few small dimple dings, and some scratches, but no big dings or dents.. There is some bondo in the left rear quater panel and its evident from looking in from the trunk, have a pic......I buffed the paint job when I put it on the road in 2006... Trim Plate is missing.... The doors, door hinges, hood and trunk all open and shut fine with no issues.... All the small little rusty spots on this car are the same as when I bought this car 13yrs ago and have not grown any bigger, same with the vinyl top cause I keep the car indoors.... Car looks like a good survivor like it is or you can do a little metal work and repaint it, it doesn't really need much metal work to paint it....

Rims and Tires - Small bolt pattern Sport Rims and the Cooper Cobra 70 wide tires have about half the tread left on them.... I also have the original steel rims with the full size hub caps and I also have a set of the small hub caps... If you want the original rims and 1 set of hub caps that's your choice....

I will Take and Send more pictures upon request of anything on this car. Easiest method for me is thru Text messages with a smartphone or email, which ever you prefer....

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
