for sale here now is our 1968 Barracuda coupe- automatic v8 318 car, floor shift, power steering, 7 1/4" rear axle...........has new rear springs,new fuel lines, new brake lines, new front floors, redone engine compartment, front sway bar, correct arms for sway bar, new carpet, new headliner, solid rails/firewall/ inner fenders/ floors/ all structural parts, complete rallye dash, with upper and lower pads, custom door panels, hurst line lock, adjustable proportioning valve, new 3" flowmaster exhaust with 70 cuda stainless tips and much more- it is a decent driver as is (just add a motor and trans) or a great project car and clean title in hand. seats in photos are not included as they have been slated for another project.... it has a complete front end- bumper w/ brkts, grilles, and header panel with lower valance- it was disassembled for paint..... payment to be made in 3 days..... Please ask questions before bidding as we would like to move this and not retain it any longer..... yes the pics are recent- the photo of the car together showing the nose was taken before the engine compartment was painted, and the original yellow hood was damaged so we have a nice clean straight replacement blue hood (shown) and all the nose parts that it had came with.....it is a console car, and the console is in it,and so is the floor shift steering column, it also has a nice trunk mount battery kit, completely dyno matted floors, electric trunk release, and lots more that i cannot think of right now................it has some rust bubbles but nothing real serious but it is a 40 yr old car- no rot in the rails or in the firewall or around the windows, new front floors, trunk appears to be solid, and quarters have some plastic in them.................if i was going for total show and as anal as i am, i would replace the quarters or at least the lower portions of them as i am very picky but as is it is a nice driver and you could put a driveline in it and drive it for quite a while and have a lot of fun in it and get looks. it is not perfect but a great driver car and priced accordingly |

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
