1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S , 340 Manual Transmission, 4 speed. which I have owned since 1987. I just installed 2 L7 subwoofers which gives tremondous sound. There is no other car on the road like this and I hate to part with it  but I have too many toys. This is a must see to appreciate so if your in the Los Angeles Area I encourage you to come see it. I have taken nothing but great care of this vehicle and has been in my family for over 20 years. I don't know actual miles becuase I had the engine rebuilt back in college and driven maybe 1000 since then. I have new carbs(not original) and manifold which took forever to get along with new hoses and if you remove the manifold my camshaft is so clean you can almost eat off of it.  I don't know if original engine but came with 340 when I purchased it back in 1987. I was going to sell it back in the days but I received 102 calls in 7 days so decided to hold on to it but now it is has been long enough and it is time to part and hopefully it will find a good home. This car needs a paint job and a little body work (little rust in the drivers side qtr panel) and If i paint this car I will never ever sell it. This is sold as is and not as factory car but I kept everything stock as possible. Needs probably a new set of tires and wheels of your choice and there is so many styles to go with. I actually have a set of Redlines tires and Barracuda original hubcaps that I am still on the fence. As you all know these type of cars are always work in progress. The cosmetic things have been last on my list and I am trying to refrain from getting it painted and putting rims and tires becuase it will be another 25 years before I consider selling it. Happy bidding and maybe this car will find a new home.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
