You are looking at a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda

340 6 pak. Comp cam, roller rockers, Jheads with 2.02 intake valves done by Aerohead
A833 manual 4 speed gone through by Brewers performance
8 3/4 3.23 Limited Slip rear

This is a very nice car but I make no claim to it's being perfect. The restoration was done around 10 years ago but has always been a work in progress. I have no personal interest in showing cars but I love to drive the old Mopars. The six bbl was added last summer.
Car runs awesome and is very quick. I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere (paying for the fuel could be a problem though)
The car started in California and when I got it, it still had a parking sticker on the rear bumper for UCLA 1968. It came to WV from New Mexico so there has never been any real rust but it was wrecked at some point. The left Fender was replaced with an original part but there is still some evidence on the inner fender. Also, the right door and right quarter was worked. When I did the body, there were no "good" quarters available and if I were to re-do the car, I would replace with an AMD full quarter. That being said, the car looks great! Just want to be perfectly honest.
The suspension has been completely replaced forward and rear and has tubular upper control arms to give more caster. It was upgraded to a flaming river manual steering box and runs a hydrolic clutch. (Fantastic upgrade)
The interior was completely re done using Legendary auto interior upholstery and carpet. All gauges work. Original radio is there but not working. One note on the interior: The drivers seat is from a 67 (I think) so the seat was very slightly different. Over the years, a tear has developed in it under the top part of the seat. It is not visible unless you pull seat forward say to let someone in the back seat.

I have an honest $25,000 in this car and I know I will never get it back. This car has been a passion of mine for over 12 years now and the only reason I am selling is to buy another one I have my eye on.

Going to add somewhat of a disclaimer here by saying that THIS IS NOT A CAR FOR A TEENAGER! It is way too quick and cars built in 1968 didn't handle like they do today.

Good luck bidding on a truly great car!!!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
