RAG MOTORS in Arkansas City, KS is offering for sale One (1) *rare* 1966 Plymouth Barracuda 2dr Hardtop Formula S Package.

This vehicle is currently equipped with a 273 small block V8 and 3 speed automatic transmission.

Here is the direct link of the you tube video we uploaded for this vehicle: http://youtu.be/0lgyzQrHvYU.  In this video you will get the opportunity to watch the car driving down the highway at speeds greater then 45 mph.  RAG MOTORS is doing their best to ensure we have conveyed all known information about this vehicle.

Because this vehicle was built as the " Formula S " package, it came generously equipped with a V8, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, chrome center console, chrome turn signal indicators on top of the fenders, a really nice dashboard and a great sounding am/fm stereo.

According to the encyclopedia, some of these vehicles built towards the latter production era of 1966, were equipped with oil pressure & tachometer gauges.  This Barracuda appears to be one of those models equipped with such gauges.  In 1966, the sheet metal in the front for which, excluding the grille, was similar to the Plymouth Valiant.  The fenders have a rectilinear contour which looks amazing on this car.  The chrome appears to be a excellent condition and on this car there is a bunch of it. We have never polished the chrome and if polished would shine like a diamond.  We considered restoring a few odds and ends but choose to sell it just the way we traded for it.

RAG MOTORS in Arkansas City, KS has people coming in and out visiting the dealership all day long and almost everyone has looked at this car and most are caught drooling over the way it looks and feels.  Although we haven't had a serious offer as of the start of this auction, we anticipate serious offers coming soon.  We are motivated to sell the car but we want to sell it for a fair price to everyone.  In order to make it fair to the our online auction community we have opted to sell this vehicle online through here.  In other words we have made this effort and we will hold out as long as possible for the next week to past.  As always we reserve the right to end this auction at anytime.  If you make the offer and it is accepted, you will own the car providing you have the money and everything works the way it should.  We will be realistic with the world so please get in touch today as the vehicle might disappear at anytime.

This vehicle is one of the deluxe models and it features signal indicators on top of the fenders for which you can see if your blinkers are on whenever you are turning.  This car has also has really stylish motif and comes equipped with the chrome center console which was optional when built.

This vehicle was traded to us from a guy who lived in Winfield, KS.  He told me that the car had been painted about 30 years ago and since he owned it he had the bumpers re-chromed and purchased the aftermarket American Racing wheels.  He brought us the original steel wheels and the original moon-like wheel covers.  They are in excellent condition and we have added the pictures to show you the condition.  We can also take more pictures of anything necessary to help you make your buying decision.  We have a facebook page under RAG MOTORS and you should be able to see more pictures there as well..

The car runs and drives surprisingly well considering its age.  The previous owner mentioned he had many of the rubber hoses replaced.  The motor sounds good and the transmission shifts relatively smooth.  I would say that the next owner will be proud to own this one of a kind beauty.  If you look close below the gas tank, there is a place where the previous owner attempted to fade in a spot where the gas leaked down from the filler spot had caused some sort of a distortion.  It looks like the color matches closely.  I think this car would look really good painted black.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
