The drive train is in very good condition except the transmission shifts into high gear a little slow, it does not slip. The engine was rebuilt about 4000 miles ago and runs perfectly. The air conditioner is dealer installed and work well. The radio is original but does not play because the antenna is broken. All of the glass is perfect ad the doors/windows work as they should when new. The brakes are very good. No power for the brakes or the steering. The paint is excellent and the chrome is very good with only a little rust around a couple of the bolt heads. There is NO RUST in this car. The carpet and headliner have been replaced and the other interior is original and in very good condition The carpet under the rear glass is original and faded but not worn out or torn. The tires are like new and the original hub capos are on each wheel. THIS IS A GREAT CAR FOR EVERY DAY DRIVING OR CRUISE IN SHOWS. IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT NICE!"

Beautiful inside and out.  Red paint is almost new with white racing strips from front to rear.  This was an added option when the car was new.  The chrome is in great condition with a couple of exceptions, one piece missing on right front fender well, broken antenna, one window devider missing on right side.  The old piceis are in the trunk. The 273 cubic inche with a two barrell carb engine was rebuilt approximately 4 thousand miles ago and performs like new.  The transmission works well but is slow shifting into high gear.  It does not slip.  The brakes and tires are like new.  The exhaust system is good with no leaks.  The glass, headliner, carpet and interior is all in like new condition except the carpet under the large rear window has never been replaced.  it is faded but in good condition.  THIS IS A RUST FREE CAR!!!  THIS CAR IS VERY ORIGINAL BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF THE NUMBERS ARE MATCHING.

The air conditioner was installed by the dealer when the car was new and works well.  There is an auxillary switch for the compressor that is not orginal equipment.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER OR CRUISE IN SHOW CAR.  IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT IN GREAT CONDITION.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
