This car has recently been brought back to life after having not been registered since 1989. It has numerous items which are in need of attention before I would consider it truely road worthy, and should be trailered if purchased. I have driven it and it is currently registered and insured, so i would be able to a reasonably close location for it to be picked up. This should be considered if you are looking for a complete restoration project. I will try to list out as much as I am currently aware of, and if there are any questions you may have, please contact me and i will reply as soon as possible.
I drove the car for a couple of weeks last fall before putting it away for the winter. In that period of time the motor ran fine and transmission shifted well. I had given it a full tune up upon aquisition. I also replaced the Brake master cylinder, front brake lines and hoses, calipers, pads and rotors.
Before parking for the winter a rear brake line sprung a leak, so a plug was placed in the proportioning block to seal it for the time being, but should of coarse be repaired before regular use, and it would be good to replace the rest of the rear brake components as well. A small fuel leak on the line to the fuel pump also developed while sitting, which a small section of ruber fuel line was spliced in to temporarily remedy, but a more thurough repair is recomended
The interior will need a good bit of attention, new bucket seat covers, carpet, headliner, and a drivers side floor pan for certain. The sun roof does not currently seal well and will need work. the motor does not currently work. The drivers side door handle needs to be replaced or repaired, which seems to be readily available. Door panels seem to be in good shape. A good bit of the interior trim was removed to inspect the sunroof and follow wired but are in decent shape and usable.
The body will be in need of repainting, and some trim pieces in need of replacement. The quarters, front fenders, doors and hood are all straight and aparently rot free. The rear bumper is rusted out and there is a decent bit of rust on the trunk lid. both of which id assume must be replaced.
Tires will be needed, and any wear items that i have not mentioned replacing may likely be in need of replacement. To the extent of my knowledge, this car was not in use since the last regestration sticker, which expired in 1989, untill i recently regestered it in the late summer of 2012
This has the potential to be a great when fixed up. Low NADA retail colecter car value for this car is just under 14K and a high value fully restored value of around 25K. I understand this car will need work before it would qualify for the low retail value, but given what it is, and i encourage you to verify with the vin that this is a numbers matching rare automobile, and being that it is a limited edition of a discontinued make, it is a safe bet that the value of this car will be on the climb.
If you have any questions at all, please contact me. I would be more than happy to answer them in a timely fashion. Given that I did not use this vehicle for all that long of a time for regular use, there may be little things i am not aware, so if you have any concerns let me know and I will inspect to the best of my ability.
No warrenty is implied and this car is being sold as is
I will require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction, so please comunicate intents on pick up arrangements and any other details of the transfer of ownership before the auctions end.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant
Wed, 18 Jun 2014If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
