You are looking at a super clean, one of a kind, sleeper 1967 Cutlass Supreme Pro Touring Resto Mod. This car was built to drive & have fun. It is an absolute blast to drive. It turns heads everywhere it goes. Looks great, drives smooth and is stupid fast. The car started off as a second owner all original 330 Jetfire, 2 speed auto, a/c car. This car is LASER straight, no dings, dents anywhere. This is a RUSTFREE car. The underside of the car is as clean as the top. The paint is NOT show quality. There are some small chips, mostly around the edges but for paint that is close to 18 years old, it looks great!! The interior is just as nice..all original nothing molested or changed except for the Autometer gauges & upgraded Bluetooth Ipod ready stereo both retrofitted into the dash. The center console is the only NON original piece inside the car & was chosen because it houses the tachometer. The power top works great, as it should.

In addition to the price of a nice 67 Convertible (if you can find one) there has been a TON of money spent building this car. This is not a $25K car so please don't hit me up with a ton of silly offers. That being said my reserve is reasonable & much less that it would take to build this car. Mechanically everything on this car is basically brand new. I have folders full or receipts. Prior to the LS Swap, all original wires were torn out and a brand new Painless Wiring harness & fuse block was installed. PSI the built a custom wiring harness for the drivetrain. ECM & TCM are tucked up under the dash on a swing out plate so that nothing can be seen. OBD port is hidden in the glovebox. The swap was completed using Hooker LS Mounts. Here are the major spec's for the build, if I miss something just ask.

  • 2009 6.0 LY6 LS with a 4L85e was swapped in. Motor had 29k when purchased last year. The motor has the huge LS3 heads plus been upgraded with MAST Motorsports Cam & valve springs, SS intake & injectors, drive by wire gas pedal. The 4L85e was upgraded with a YANK SS 4000 converter. The combo makes about 515 HP at the crank. The car has been tuned by Vengeance Racing in Cumming, GA and runs great.
  • Exhaust is handled by Hooker big tube headers, Magnaflow mufflers & a complete 3" mandrel bent exhaust all the way out to the back.
  • Rear end was upgraded to a Ford 9" built by Quick Performance Racing & stuffed with an aluminum ford motorsports posi chunk, 3:70 gears & rear disk brakes. Massive tubular upper & lower control arms lock it in.
  • New efi fuel tank plus a surge tank were installed, 2 walboro 255 pumps & russells procomp hoses were used to plumb the entire car.
  • Car rides on Billet Specialties Wheels, 17x8 up front wrapped in 245/45/17 Nitto 555's & 17x11 out back wrapped in huge 315/35/17 Nitto Drag Radial out back to help it hook.
  • A custom Griffin Radiator assures it runs nice & cool all day long.

I have made a few videos of the car & tried to attach them here, if that doesn't work you should be able to find them on youtube, under my name Steven Kanner or 67 Cutlass Convertible LS Swap should help you find them. I hope that will show what the pictures don't & how good this car sounds!!! The car is located in Savannah GA & may be seen at anytime by anyone bidding on the car.  I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. I may be open to a PARTIAL trade for an interesting rolling project as long as the deal is MOSTLY cash to me. Good luck & bid to win!!!

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
